The Opportunity - Head of Strategy & Transformation
This position works out of our Pakistan office location in the Abbott Established Pharmaceuticals division.

The Head of Strategy and Transformation is responsible for leading the end-to-end transformation agenda of the site, driving a zero-loss culture, strategic clarity, organizational alignment, capability building, and sustained operational excellence.
As a core member of the Site Leadership Team, this role acts as the central integrator of strategy execution, ensuring that strategy, culture, systems, processes, and people are fully aligned to deliver short-, medium-, and long-term business objectives.
The role is accountable for embedding structured continuous improvement disciplines, PDCA rigor, and performance governance, while simultaneously leading cultural transformation, capability development, and organizational effectiveness. This position ensures that the organization moves from fragmented initiatives to a fully integrated, system-driven, and high-performance environment delivering sustainable business results
What You'll Do-
1. Strategic Planning & Master Planning
Lead the development of the site’s 3-year strategic masterplan, including:
Long-term vision and ambition
Strategic priorities and focus areas
Required organizational capabilities and behaviors
Translate strategy into a fully integrated annual site masterplan, ensuring:
Clear linkage to business and commercial objectives
Alignment across all functions and departments
Defined KPIs, milestones, and deliverables
Develop zero-loss journey roadmaps across a 3-year horizon, identifying:
Key loss areas
Transformation levers
Expected business impact
Ensure clear cascade of strategy to departmental and individual plans
Continuously review and refine the strategy based on:
Performance outcomes
Market dynamics
Organizational maturity
2. Operational excellence leadership
Lead and deploy the Manufacturing linked Continuous Improvement strategy aligned with business objectives.
Drive Lean Manufacturing, TPM, Six Sigma, and Operational Excellence initiatives across both sites.
Establish annual productivity, cost savings, waste reduction, and efficiency improvement roadmaps.
Facilitate Kaizen events, Rapid Improvement Workshops, and structured problem-solving sessions.
Ensure sustainability of CI systems through governance, standard work, and KPI management
Design and implement best-in-class production management systems aligned with operational excellence objectives
Drive structured loss elimination through robust RCA (Root Cause Analysis) systems
Improve OEE, line efficiency, yield, labor productivity, and asset utilization
Reduce manufacturing losses including downtime, waste, changeover time, quality defects, and energy consumption
Lead improvement initiatives using:
Lean Manufacturing
Six Sigma / DMAIC
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
Foster a strong continuous improvement mindset across the organization
3. Continuous Improvement Program (CIP) Leadership
Lead the end-to-end CIP portfolio across the site, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities
Deploy structured node-specific loss analysis tools to identify high-impact opportunities
Drive the full loss elimination lifecycle, including:
Identification and prioritization of losses
Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Solution development and implementation
Sustainability and control
Govern all CIP initiatives through a structured framework ensuring:
Clear ownership and accountability
Robust tracking of benefits and outcomes
Alignment with business targets
Facilitate and lead cross-functional improvement programs, ensuring integration across functions
Build a strong pipeline of high-impact projects delivering measurable financial and operational benefits
4. Performance Management & PDCA Governance
Establish and embed a site-wide PDCA management system, ensuring:
Structured planning aligned with strategy
Disciplined execution
Regular review and performance tracking
Continuous learning and adjustment
Align all functional and departmental PDCA cycles to:
The site masterplan
Strategic priorities
CIP objectives
Design and lead site-wide drumbeats, including:
Weekly functional performance reviews
Monthly site performance reviews
Quarterly strategic reviews with senior leadership
Ensure each drumbeat:
Is structured, data-driven, and action-oriented
Has clear escalation and decision-making mechanisms
Drive execution discipline and accountability by:
Tracking progress of all actions
Ensuring closure and impact delivery
Eliminating delays and inefficiencies in execution
5. Culture & Organizational Effectiveness
Lead the design and execution of the site-wide cultural transformation agenda
Use structured tools such as:
High Performance Organization (HPO) assessments
Organizational performance models
Employee engagement diagnostics
Establish clear linkage between:
Cultural behaviors
Organizational performance
Business results
Identify key behavioral and cultural gaps, and develop targeted interventions
Drive initiatives to build:
Accountability and ownership
Problem-solving mindset
Collaboration across functions
Transparency and performance focus
Engage directly with teams across all levels to:

6. Learning & Development (L&D)
Design and implement a comprehensive site-wide L&D system aligned to strategy and operational needs
Ensure every role across the site has:

Continuous capability assessment
Skill progression tracking
Targeted learning interventions
Integrate L&D with:
Performance management systems
CI deployment
Organizational transformation goals

7. Talent Development & HR Partnership
Partner closely with HR to design and deploy:
Comprehensive onboarding programs
Early career development frameworks

Lead the design and execution of the site communication strategy
Ensure clear and consistent:
Cascade of strategy and masterplans
Communication of performance results

9. Organizational Governance & Change Management
Design and implement a robust organizational governance framework

Monitor change effectiveness

10. Simplification & Digitization
Develop and lead a multi-year simplification and digitization roadmap
Identify opportunities to:
Reduce process complexity
Eliminate non-value-added work
Improve efficiency and cycle times
Deploy digital tools and platforms to:
Enhance data visibility
Enable real-time performance tracking
Support data-driven decision-making
Ensure integration of digital solutions into:

11. Work Process Optimization
Lead identification of improvement opportunities across all site functions
Conduct structured process mapping and workflow analysis, including:
Flowcharting
Effort and workload balancing (effort vs value analysis)
Bottleneck identification

Reduce duplication and waste

Required Qualifications-
Bachelor's degree with at least 5 to 6 years of experience in a manufacturing site with core manufacturing along with lean manufacturing continuous improvement exposure.
