Description
Aristocrat seeks a strategic and commercially minded finance leader for our Development & Build Finance team. As Director of Portfolio Planning & Capital Allocation, you will influence investment decisions, prioritize capital, guide portfolio strategy, and measure success across our multi-billion-dollar global business. This role offers a unique opportunity to help shape Aristocrat's strategic direction by ensuring investments are aligned to the initiatives that create the greatest long-term value for the organization.
Far beyond a traditional FP&A role, this highly visible position sits at the intersection of finance, strategy, governance, and executive decision-making. You will help shape Aristocrat's capital allocation framework, investment governance processes, and strategic decision-making across Product, Technology, Studios, Finance, and enterprise functions. Partnering closely with senior leaders across the organization, you will evaluate cases, assess investment opportunities, and guide how the company allocates capital across innovation, technology, talent, and growth. Your work will directly influence portfolio priorities, investment governance, resource allocation, and long-term business performance across the enterprise.
The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, commercially astute, and comfortable navigating ambiguity. You can move seamlessly between critical thinking, financial analysis, operational execution, and executive communication. You build credibility quickly, challenge conventional thinking when needed, and influence decision-making through clear insights and compelling business narratives. If you are energized by solving complex business problems, driving measurable impact, and helping senior leaders make better investment decisions, this is an exceptional opportunity to build a new capability, gain broad organizational exposure, and leave a lasting mark on the future of Aristocrat.
What You'll Do
- Support the development and ongoing evolution of Aristocrat's capital allocation framework.
- Drive alignment between capital allocation priorities, product roadmaps, investment proposals, and business outcomes.
- Own and direct investment governance processes to ensure resources are passionate about the highest-return opportunities.
- Develop portfolio-level insights that inform executive, ESC, and Board decision-making.
- Accountability for multi-year portfolio strategy and policy.
- Lead a team responsible for developing arguments, investment analysis, scenario modeling, and strategic evaluations across Product, Technology, Studios, Finance, and enterprise functions.
- Deliver financial and strategic counsel on important initiatives, new product investments, organizational changes, acquisitions, and transformation programs.
- Evaluate trade-offs between contending opportunities and support prioritization decisions.
- Translate complex financial and strategic questions into clear options, trade-offs, and decisions for senior leaders.
- Assume responsibility for capital allocation, investment outcomes, and portfolio reporting directed at the Executive Leadership Team, ESC, and Board audiences.
- Build clear, compelling narratives that connect investment choices to strategic outcomes and measurable value creation.
- Build decision-focused reporting that improves transparency, accountability, and follow-through across the investment lifecycle.
- Help establish a robust rhythm of business around investment reviews, portfolio health, and strategic performance measurement.
- Partner with business leaders to track outcomes against investment commitments.
- Drive continuous improvement in decision quality, governance, and investment accountability.
- Work closely with Product, Technology, Business Divisions, Finance, Strategy, Corporate Development, and Chief of Staff teams across Aristocrat.
- Influence outcomes through clear analysis, strong collaboration, good judgment, and practical recommendations.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in FP&A, strategy, investment analysis, consulting, corporate finance, portfolio management, or decision support roles.
- Demonstrated experience developing investment frameworks, and executive-level recommendations.
- Strong commercial foresight with the ability to balance strategic objectives and financial outcomes.
- Experience presenting to senior executives and/or Boards.
- Advanced financial modeling, scenario analysis, and portfolio management capabilities.
