The Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Product Portfolio Manager and people leader to help shape the professional development programs LIMRA and LOMA offers to its member companies worldwide. From early career e-learning programs to globally recognized professional designations to facilitated classroom learning and executive development experiences, LIMRA and LOMA is known for high quality education that helps back-office industry professionals build their expertise and industry knowledge.
Working with LIMRA and LOMA leaders, you’ll define and oversee the execution of a clear, long-term strategy for the Professional Development Division’s product portfolio, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic priorities and industry workforce needs. Using your strong skills as a people leader and portfolio manager, you’ll guide a team of product managers to ensure that our professional development programs for the industry are market aligned, learner centered, financially sound, and deliver measurable outcomes.
What You’ll Do:
- Work with the guidance of the Professional Development Division Head and senior leadership to set and execute a clear strategy for the organization’s portfolio of Professional Development products
- Communicate portfolio strategy, performance metrics, recommendations, and trade-offs to executive stakeholders
- Oversee the Division’s work related to market intelligence, guiding a team of Product Owners as they gather and act on strong market intelligence in managing their products and identify new product development opportunities
- Work collaboratively across functional areas to ensure consistency in go-to-market processes and align resources for product development and go-to-market planning efforts
- Plan and enabling the work of the Professional Development Product Owners to ensure that product management efforts and product business plans drive product engagement, utilization, and desired financial outcomes
- Use deep understanding of member needs and product lifecycle stages to help guide product decisions
- Employ strong product development discipline to promote innovative new product development aligned with organizational strategies and priorities
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree, with a preference for a master’s degree
- 10+ years of experience in portfolio management or product management, with strong preference for experience within the financial services industry.
- 10+ years of experience leading a team, including as a leader of leaders, with a successful track record for managing, developing, and inspiring a team.
- Achievement in driving product engagement, utilization, and financial outcomes
- Demonstrated success managing complex product portfolios with accountability for profitability.
- Proven ability to translate strategy into execution across cross-functional teams.
- Product development experience, with emphasis on product concept generation and market testing
- Demonstrated experience building business cases, managing product backlogs, and prioritizing work
- Product development experience for education, learning, or professional services programs is preferred
- Experience managing portfolios with both B2C and B2B audiences is preferred
