Job Description:

Flight Nurse – Pediatric Focus (PICU/Pediatric ED Experience Preferred)

Join Our Life Flight Team | Elevate Your Nursing Career

Are you a highly skilled critical care nurse with a passion for pediatric care and a sense of adventure? Intermountain is looking for experienced RNs—especially those with PICU and/or Pediatric ED backgrounds—to join our elite medical transport team. This is more than a job; it’s a mission to deliver life-saving care in the most challenging environments.

---

What You’ll Do

As a flight nurse, you’ll provide expert-level care to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients in dynamic, high-stakes environments—whether in the air or on the ground. You’ll work autonomously and collaboratively to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care during interfacility transports and emergency responses.

Your responsibilities will include:

Assessment: Perform comprehensive physical, psychological, and developmental evaluations.

Planning: Develop individualized care plans using critical thinking and input from patients, families, and the care team.

Implementation: Deliver and coordinate care, administer medications, and manage resources in fast-paced, mobile settings.

Evaluation: Monitor patient outcomes and adjust care plans as needed.

Professionalism: Uphold the highest standards of nursing practice, safety, and ethics in accordance with CAMTS, CLIA, and Life Flight protocols.

---

Work Environment

This role requires adaptability and resilience. You’ll operate in:

· Helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft (including unpressurized flights up to 10,000 feet)

· Ground ambulances and outdoor environments (including extreme weather and rugged terrain)

· Enclosed spaces with potential exposure to infectious diseases, noise, vibration, and dehydration risks
