Immanuel Communities is seeking a Full Time Cook to work at Immanuel Courtyard located at 6757 Newport Avenue, Omaha, NE 68152.  Immanuel Courtyard has 70 independent living and 68 assisted living apartment homes.

 

This is not an entry level position. At least one year of experience cooking at a level above fast food/fast casual is required in order to be considered for this role. Schedule for this position is: Tuesday – Saturday from 6:00AM – 2:30PM, including holidays.

This position will pay up to $19.68/hour.  Pay will be based upon experience, certifications, skills and education.

Job Duties & Skills Required

What You Will Do

• Prepare and cook breakfast and lunch meals according to established menus and recipes.
• Ensure meals are prepared on time and served at the proper temperature and quality standards.
• Assist with breakfast and lunch meal service.
• Prepare food for residents with special dietary needs and modified diets as directed.
• Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and work area.
• Properly store, label, and rotate food products.
• Monitor food quality, portions, and presentation.
• Work closely with the dining team to ensure smooth and timely meal service.
• Interact with residents in a friendly, respectful, and professional manner.
• Assist with kitchen cleanup and closing duties as needed.

 

Skills & Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• One (1) year of cooking experience beyond the level of fast food/fast casual is required.
• Minimum age of 18 years old is required.
• Reliable and dependable with a strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently while being a positive member of the dining team.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
• A positive attitude and genuine desire to serve older adults.
