Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Patient Account Specialist, you will process account payments, update insurance and demographic information, research payments, rebill insurance, and work with other departments to resolve issues, including adjustments and insurance follow-up. Every day you will meticulously manage patient accounts, ensuring accurate billing and payment processing, and collaborate with various internal departments to achieve timely and effective resolution of all account-related concerns. To be successful in this role, you will possess strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail in account processing, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with other departments to resolve complex patient account issues.
- Answers all incoming calls to the billing office from patients to resolve account issues.
- Utilizes excellent communication skills to explain bills and recoup payments from patients.
- Researches outstanding accounts and partners with peers to ensure accuracy of bills and timely resolution of issues.
This position has the ability to work remote 100% for Colorado residents; however will have to go on-site (Mineral campus in Centennial Co.) for in person meetings and or if experiencing Internet or computer issues.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Diploma/G.E.D.
- One (1) year healthcare experience
Preferred
- Billing experience
- Comprehensive understanding of insurance billing and followup practices
