Engineering Process Consultant

Description

We are seeking an Engineering Process Consultant to support a variety of task orders focused on improving engineering processes, developing AI-enabled solutions, shaping IT strategy and technology roadmaps, and strengthening stakeholder engagement. This role will work closely with program teams, technical leaders, and mission stakeholders to analyze requirements, assess current-state capabilities, identify technology opportunities, and develop actionable recommendations that align engineering and IT investments with mission objectives.

 

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, strategic thinker, and analytical problem solver who can translate complex mission and technical requirements into practical solutions. The successful candidate will bring experience supporting AI solutioning, IT strategy and roadmap development, requirements analysis, and process improvement, with the ability to connect emerging technologies to real-world mission needs.

Responsibilities

• Support a diverse set of engineering and technology consulting activities across multiple task orders.
• Coordinate and facilitate stakeholder meetings to gather requirements, identify capability gaps, and assess the impacts of proposed technical or process changes.
• Support the development of IT strategies, technology roadmaps, and future-state architectures aligned with organizational priorities and mission objectives.
• Evaluate current-state IT environments, processes, and capabilities to identify modernization opportunities and recommend future-state solutions.
• Support AI solutioning efforts, including identifying potential AI/ML use cases, evaluating mission and business requirements, and helping translate operational challenges into viable AI-enabled capabilities.
• Collaborate with technical teams, stakeholders, and leadership to assess the feasibility, value, risks, and implementation considerations associated with AI and emerging technology solutions.
• Develop recommendations and implementation approaches that connect mission requirements, technology investments, AI capabilities, and longer-term IT modernization strategies.
• Document and maintain workflows, processes, requirements, roadmaps, and standard operating procedures.
• Collaborate with program teams to prioritize requirements and align technical solutions with mission objectives and strategic priorities.
• Collect, track, analyze, and report requirements and performance-related metrics.
• Act as a liaison between mission stakeholders and technical teams to ensure operational needs are clearly understood and translated into actionable technical requirements.
• Analyze data to develop models, visualizations, assessments, and insights that support technical and strategic decision-making.
• Identify risks, dependencies, and technology gaps within engineering and IT initiatives and support the development and monitoring of mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to or support configuration management, knowledge management, and technology governance processes.
• Assist in defining the scope, objectives, and parameters of requirements and alternatives analysis on a project-by-project basis.
• Participate in strategic planning sessions, technical reviews, architecture discussions, roadmap development activities, and stakeholder meetings.
• Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends, particularly in artificial intelligence, automation, data analytics, cloud technologies, and digital modernization, and assess their potential applicability to mission requirements.

Qualifications

Required:

 

• An active TS/SCI with Polygraph (preferably from this client) is required to be considered.
• Experience supporting engineering, systems, technology strategy, or process improvement initiatives.
• Experience developing or contributing to IT strategies, technology roadmaps, modernization plans, or future-state technology architectures.
• Experience supporting AI/ML solutioning, including identifying use cases, translating mission or business challenges into technical requirements, and evaluating potential AI-enabled solutions.
• Strong ability to gather, analyze, document, and prioritize technical and mission requirements.
• Experience facilitating stakeholder discussions and collaborating across technical, operational, and cross-functional teams.
• Experience with data analysis, reporting, visualization, and developing data-informed recommendations.
• Ability to evaluate existing processes and technology environments and recommend improvements aligned with organizational objectives.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts, including AI and emerging technologies, into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Understanding of IT modernization, systems engineering, enterprise technology planning, or digital transformation concepts.

Salary Range

USD $170,000.00 - USD $200,000.00 /Yr.The Markon pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
