DaVita is seeking a collaborative, business-minded, and strategic regulatory attorney to join the Innovations and Healthcare Strategy team within the Justice League of DaVita (JLD) as a Director, Senior Corporate Counsel. As we grow our clinical footprint and explore cutting-edge healthcare models, we are seeking an agile, curious, and tech-forward attorney to join our collaborative Legal Department. If you are eager to dive into complex regulatory questions, are experienced leveraging AI tools to streamline legal research and problem-solving, and want to partner shoulder-to-shoulder with physicians, clinical leaders, and business entrepreneurs, this role is built for you. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player who can build strong relationships across functions and effectively balance legal risk with business objectives. This position is based in Denver, Colorado.

 

In this role you will help build and safeguard the future of healthcare. Working closely with senior regulatory counsel and strategic leaders, you will tackle high-impact, pioneering initiatives across diverse healthcare sectors:

• Expanding Patient Access: Advancing care models that empower patients to receive life-sustaining and integrated therapies.
• Healthcare Innovations & Digital Health: Advising on novel care delivery platforms, next-gen technologies, and clinical pilot programs.
• Licensure & Facility Approvals: Guiding state and federal licensure, credentialing, and regulatory compliance for physicians, advanced practice nurses, and specialized facilities.
• Medicare Billing & Reimbursement: Structuring compliant pathways for innovative service delivery under CMS regulations and value-based care models.
• Pharmaceuticals & Therapeutics: Navigating regulatory strategy around specialty medications, supply chains, and evolving pharmacy regulations.

 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Independently manage a broad range of projects and initiatives supporting DaVita’s existing portfolio and continued growth.

• Partner with and provide day-to-day direction and legal advice to business teams and physicians.
• Collaborate closely with other legal teams on regulatory, litigation, and compliance.
• Develop, maintain, and improve templates, policies, processes, and training materials to support business objectives and drive operational efficiency.

• Mentor, train, and provide direction to other legal team members.

Minimum Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the Colorado State Bar or ability to obtain admission.
• 5-8+ years of relevant legal experience
• Demonstrated academic achievement and strong legal analytical skills.

• Knowledge of healthcare law and regulatory requirements, or a willingness to develop expertise in the healthcare industry.
• Passion for innovation, process improvement, and change management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong writing, drafting, and editing skills.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands and manage complex workloads.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• A high degree of initiative, ownership, and business judgment.
• Experience building and developing teams, improving processes, and creating scalable solutions that align with business goals.
• Proven ability to partner effectively with executives, business leaders, and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with technology and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The Salary Range for the role is $115,000.00 - $183,000.00 per year.

 

 

 

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience.
