Position Summary

A PCS pump engineer owns a fleet of vacuum pumps in the subfab. Their role is to measure the health of the equipment to identify low performance and implement actions to create high performance. The fleet of pumps generates a large volume of data, which must be monitored and evaluated against statistical limits that determine the healthiness of individual pumps. The inventory of spare pumps must be managed to maintain business continuity. The engineer is responsible for the performance of the onsite contractors performing pump maintenance according to SOP. Understanding pump failures and implementing improvement projects is the overall objective for a Pump engineer.

Role and Responsibilities

Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:

  • Measuring and documenting the performance of equipment

  • Analyzing sensor data and deriving predictive models and forecasts for failure

  • Maintaining procedures used to repair/replace equipment

  • Identifying and implementing improvements to extend life or upgrade quality of equipment based on KPI impact

  • Understanding technical design of equipment and perform troubleshooting of failures

Skills and Qualifications

Here's what you'll need:

  • ​Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or Process Engineering

  • 3+ years of engineering experience, manufacturing environment preferred, experience with vacuum pumps the most preferred

  • Academic background in Mechanical engineering preferred

  • Experience in SCADA systems, or similar concept

  • Experience in vendor/contractor management 

The current base salary range for this role is between $95,000 - $120,000. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience. Total compensation for this position will include a competitive benefits package and may include participation in company incentive compensation programs, which are based on factors to include organizational and individual performance.
