Salary: £35,000 to £60,000 DOE
Hours: Monday to Friday, with optional overtime available
About the Role
We are recruiting for a Hydraulic Engineer to join an established hydraulic engineering company based in Tilbury.
This is a practical engineering position suited to someone with previous experience working with hydraulic systems, components and equipment. The role would suit an experienced Hydraulic Engineer, Hydraulic Technician or Hydraulic Fitter, as well as a Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Fitter with a strong hydraulic background.
The company is looking for someone local to the area who can work confidently on hydraulic equipment, diagnose faults and provide a high standard of service to customers.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose and repair faults across a range of hydraulic systems and components
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on hydraulic equipment
- Manufacture and assemble hydraulic hoses and steel tube assemblies
- Identify hydraulic issues and determine the appropriate repair or replacement
- Work with hydraulic components, systems and associated mechanical equipment
- Test and check equipment to ensure it is operating correctly
- Complete work independently while also supporting the wider engineering team
- Deal professionally with customers and provide good service throughout the job
- Maintain a safe, tidy and well-organised working environment
- Follow engineering procedures and maintain a high standard of workmanship
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working as a Hydraulic Engineer, Hydraulic Technician, Hydraulic Fitter or in a similar mechanical engineering role
- Good practical understanding of hydraulic systems and components
- Experience diagnosing and resolving hydraulic faults
- Experience manufacturing or assembling hydraulic hoses and steel tube assemblies is preferred
- Ability to work confidently on your own initiative
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong work ethic and a professional approach to customer service
- Ideally based in or around the Tilbury area
Who Might Suit This Role

Candidates with experience in plant machinery, mobile hydraulics, heavy equipment, fluid power, industrial engineering or mechanical maintenance may also have relevant transferable experience, particularly where they have worked hands-on with hydraulic systems and components.
