As an Image Quality Verification Engineer, you will work within a team of imaging engineers on webcams and other video-capable devices, with a primary focus on subjective image quality verification. You will visually assess and validate image/video quality under controlled, repeatable conditions, run structured subjective evaluations, and use image analysis tools to quantify and explain what you observe. This is an individual-contributor role focused on image quality verification rather than algorithm development, working closely with the IQ tuning and engineering teams to turn observations into clear, actionable findings.

Subjective Image Quality Verification

●          Perform subjective image quality verification and evaluation for Logitech webcams under controlled, repeatable viewing conditions.

●          Design and execute image quality tests (both subjective and objective) and clearly document the results.

Image Analysis & Root-Cause Investigation

●          Use at least one image analysis tool to measure key IQ attributes and correlate the measurements with your subjective observations.

●          Summarize the purpose of each analysis item, interpret the meaning of the measured data, and explain how the different analysis items relate to one another.

●          Investigate observed image quality issues and, where possible, trace them toward their root cause.

Competitive Benchmarking

●          Understand competitor products — their specifications, strengths, and weaknesses — and regularly benchmark them side-by-side against Logitech products; analyze the results to deliver data-backed findings that clearly articulate each product's strengths and weaknesses.

Image Quality Tracking & Data Management

●          Maintain per-version comparison data, test results, and reference images to track the evolution of image quality over time, and keep them well organized and readily available for review on demand.

Validation, Certification & Collaboration

●          Support IQ validation and webcam end-to-end testing, including certification test execution for Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Windows Hello.

●          Collaborate with the IQ tuning and engineering teams to communicate findings and support image quality improvements.

Key Qualifications:

For consideration, you must bring the following minimum skills and experiences to our team:

●   Bachelor's degree in Imaging Science, Photography, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field — ideally with completed coursework or credits in digital imaging.

●   Familiarity with the fundamentals of digital imaging.

●   Understanding of the basic working principles of image sensors (e.g., pixel/photodiode structure, color filter array, exposure and gain, and readout).

●   Understanding of 3A (auto exposure, auto white balance, auto focus) — the underlying principles, the methods used to achieve them, and their resulting effects on image quality.

●   Understanding of how various imaging features interact with 3A, including the dependencies and trade-offs between them.

●   Solid understanding of basic color science, including the characteristics of common color spaces and gamuts (e.g., sRGB, Lab, XYZ, HSV, YCbCr).

●   Hands-on familiarity with at least one image analysis tool (e.g., Imatest).

●   Ability to organize the purpose of each analysis item, interpret the meaning of the data, and understand the correlations between different analysis items.

●   Strong analytical, observation, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

●   Completed coursework in signal processing.

●   Ability to analyze observed data and trace it back to its root cause.

●   Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, MATLAB, …).

●   Experience with camera module characterization.

●   Knowledge of image quality standards.
