The Position

We are looking for Seasonal Production & Shipping Technicians to join our team during our busy Q4 season. Seasonal team members will support various areas of our production and shipping operations to help ensure customer orders are assembled, finished, packaged, and prepared for shipment accurately and efficiently.

This is a hands-on position that may involve working with production equipment, assembling products, preparing packaging, inspecting finished products, and preparing customer orders for shipment. Seasonal employees may also be cross-trained and assigned to different areas based on business needs.

You Will Aid In:

• Assembling frames and other products using designated materials and equipment 
• Operating pneumatic tools and production equipment safely 
• Building and preparing packaging materials 
• Packing and finishing products according to company Standard Operating Procedures 
• Creating and applying shipping labels with strong attention to detail 
• Verifying order contents and customer information for accuracy 
• Inspecting products and assembled frames for quality assurance 
• Identifying defects and correcting issues when possible 
• Breaking down defective frames or parts for palletization and reprocessing 
• Stacking assembled products and frames on pallets according to Standard Operating Procedures 
• Corrective staining or painting of assembled frames as needed 
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area 
• Following written work orders and established procedures 
• Cross-training and assisting in other departments as needed 
• Performing other duties as assigned 

The Person

The ideal candidate:

• Can work at a steady and rapid pace in a production environment 
• Can safely operate pneumatic tools and production equipment 
• Can follow written instructions and work orders 
• Has strong attention to detail and can identify defects quickly 
• Can accurately read and understand shipping information and customer orders 
• Can stand for long periods of time 
• Can lift medium/heavy weights up to 50 lbs. 
• Can read and understand a tape measure and angle finder 
• Has good communication skills 
• Works well as part of a team 
• Is willing to cross-train in other departments as needed 
• Can work a shift schedule, weekends, and overtime as needed 
• Promotes and maintains a team environment consistent with Smallwoods' values and principles 
• Demonstrates reliability, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to help wherever needed during our busy season 

Seasonal Position

This is a temporary seasonal position supporting Smallwoods' increased Q4 production and shipping needs. Employees may be assigned to production, frame assembly, packaging, shipping, or other areas based on business needs and may be cross-trained in multiple areas.

Schedule:

Monday-Thursday 5am-3:30pm and some Fridays and weekends as needed. Hours subject to change based on needs.
