The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a student employee to fill the role of Social Media Assistant for our partner organization, REACH Crisis Services in Manchester, NH. The Social Media Assistant will support REACH by creating engaging content and managing our online presence across platforms. This role focuses on writing, designing, and scheduling posts, tracking social media metrics, and helping grow REACH’s digital visibility. This position does not involve direct client interaction.

Job Responsibilities

  • Respect the confidentiality and privacy of those we serve by maintaining confidentiality.
  • Research topic content for the design and execution of social media campaigns and marketing materials.
  • Create weekly and monthly editorial calendars to promote company brands on various social media websites.
  • Create and distribute content such as blogs, infographics, videos and press releases on social media and traditional news outlets.
  • Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability
  • Collaborate with advocates and research ideas for original content
  • Create compelling graphics to share across social channels
  • Write social media captions that speak to survivors of Domestic & Sexual Violence, Stalking, and human Trafficking.
  • Promote the agency’s mission in all marketing and social media content.
  • Assist with outreach and tabling events as needed.
  • Schedule and hours are agreed upon by students and supervisor. If possible, a 1-year commitment to REACH is preferred.
  • All content created is the intellectual property of REACH.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program
  • Work study part of financial aid package
  • Students with work study may be prioritized
  • Reliable transportation
  • Has use and understanding of social media platforms, has experience posting.
  • Understanding non-profits and has a desire to work with a crisis center for social media.
  • Must be 18 years or older and able to complete a 7-hour REACH outreach training.
  • Ideal candidates are currently enrolled in or have completed coursework in communications, marketing, or a related field, and have familiarity with social media platforms, content creation, and basic graphic design.
  • Strong communication skills, creativity, and the ability to work independently are essential.

Learning Outcomes (NACE Competencies)

Will create social media post that complies with branding, learn how a crisis center post vital information for survivors.

Work Schedule
Flexible scheduling, office hours are 8am-4:30pm

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $13.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
