OUR TEAM
As part of our VTS business, our PRV team is primarily focused on the design, manufacture, delivery and support of protected mobility vehicles on a global scale. We are very proud of everything we do in support of both the Bushmaster and Hawkei platforms as we all work together towards our purpose.
YOUR ROLE:
Join us as a Systems Safety Engineer where you will be developing and delivering solutions (products, support equipment, systems, and services) that are adequately safe for their intended purpose in order to eliminate or reduce harm to people, equipment and the environment. With a focus on autonomous vehicles and systems, you will deliver safe systems and solutions, by performing system safety engineering analysis and processes, so as to shape the delivered solution that meets all the desired functionalities, whilst ensuring safety of personnel and mission.
Working at our Melbourne office, on Wurundjeri Land, you will:
Demonstrate knowledge and skills relevant to the development and qualification of autonomous vehicles and systems.
Demonstrate Technical aptitude and ability to comprehend and appreciate product engineering and requirements and constraints across a range of mechanical, electrical and chemical engineering domains.
Drive system safety outcome by anticipating problems, engaging stakeholders early, and support the delivery of safe solutions whilst meeting all other program demands.
Proactive in seeking new knowledge and skills; resilient in the face of challenges
Be both a good team player and leader, able to provide constructive feedback to others as well as assess own performance.
Self-motivated, high level of resilience and drive.
Challenge assumptions and existing approaches constructively when they affect safe solution outcome or project value.
Possesses and demonstrates strong ethics and integrity.
YOUR EXPERIENCE:
Sound understanding and experience of the Systems Safety Engineering process in a safety critical industry such a Defence, Vehicles, Railway, Aerospace, Nuclear or Oil & Gas.
Sound understanding and experience in autonomous vehicle and systems development and qualification
Proven track record of successfully leading the execution of System Safety Programs that include system safety arguments, assessments and artefacts and conducting independent safety assurance activities including auditing.
Experience in conducting autonomous vehicle system safety analysis, including: FHA; SOTIF analysis; STPA
Working knowledge of MIL-STD-882, ISO21448 and ISO 26262 is highly desirable.
Working knowledge of ISO15288 or SAE J3187 is desirable
Proficient in broad range of technical areas specifically in highly regulated sectors.
