Position Summary
The Senior Procurement Specialist will interact with multiple stakeholders across the organization including Procurement, Supply Chain, Packaging Engineering, Quality, Operations, Accounts Payable, Finance, as well as various Suppliers.
Position Responsibilities
· Manage competitive bids requested by teams as well as proactively identify sourcing opportunities and assisting with developing and maintaining the three-year sourcing plan.
· Contribute to the Kalamazoo site and global Procurement cost savings target.
· Manage overall vendor relationships for assigned commodities to ensure competitive costs, business continuity, and day-to-day operations are handled in accordance with proper policy and procedures.
· Manage multiple projects such as sourcing initiatives, continuous improvement projects, analyzing conversion opportunities, and facilitating assigned project implementations. Gain end user and senior management buy-in on decisions for assigned projects and commodities.
· Manage vendor relationships and help facilitate on-site visits and contacts with colleagues
· Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Chemistry or related business/technical field.
· Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Procurement.
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written coupled with strong presentation and facilitation skills.
· Strong interpersonal, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
· Motivated self-starter.
· Demonstrated commitment to achieving objectives in a manner that is supportive of the Zoetis Core Beliefs (always do the right thing, customer obsessed, run it like you own it, our colleagues make the difference, we are one Zoetis).
· Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of the Zoetis organization.
· Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Animal Health industry is a plus.
· An understanding of GMP and the Quality standards required in a pharmaceuticals business
· Self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude
· Relevant supplier or procurement experience.
· Strong organizational skills and results oriented. Ability to get things done by working with/through others.
· Strong interpersonal skills and oral and written communication skills.
· PowerPoint skillset
· SAP and/or Ariba Procurement system experience strongly preferred
· Position is mostly office work with filing and other light activities as necessary.
Technical Skills Requirements
· Demonstrated strengths in the following capabilities: leadership, operational management, data and financial analysis, supply chain, decision-making, critical-thinking and technical skills pertaining procurement, negotiating, and conflict resolution.
· Strong working knowledge of SAP.
· Excellent analytical skills.
· Experience with Lean Six Sigma principles and tools is a plus.
· Strong problem-solving skills with demonstrated results in the resolution of moderate/complex challenges.
· Knowledge of and experience in leading/overseeing defined procurement processes utilizing established policies and practices for guidance.
· Demonstrated record of innovation, focus on performance, change management, continuous improvement, and development/implementation of best practices.
· Track record of understanding and meeting customer and market needs.
· Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and ability to learn Zoetis systems.
