Job Description
The overall expectation of a Sourcing Specialist is to support the end procurement processes including early engagement on business request analysis; Pricing/Terms Negotiation; Supplier Selection; Order Processing; Contracting; Supplier Relationship Management. The Sourcing Specialist acts as the Supplier Manager for existing suppliers and define standards for supplier sourcing & seek feedback on the delivered work and show curiosity to learn and develop.
Core Responsibilities:
• Category Management: Align project and operational activities with the LEGO Group’s procurement strategy to support the execution of broader business objectives.
• Strategic Sourcing: Conduct comprehensive market research to identify and assess potential suppliers. Analyze supplier performance, negotiate favorable contracts, and apply innovative sourcing strategies such as supplier segmentation and development to drive value.
• Supplier Relationship Management & Strategic Partnering: Support effective supplier relationships through clear communication and collaboration. Contribute to the development of procurement strategies and partner with internal stakeholders to align supplier activities with organizational goals
• Stakeholder Management: Identify and engage relevant internal and external stakeholders. Maintain effective communication, seek support when needed, and escalate issues appropriately to ensure alignment and resolution
• Negotiation Skills: Participate in tactical price negotiations or assist others in negotiation activities under supervision, applying foundational negotiation knowledge and skills
• Project Management: Contribute to projects by managing assigned tasks or workstreams, applying project management principles, and seeking guidance to enhance understanding of project lifecycles and processes
• Innovation: Identify creative solutions to sourcing challenges by thinking beyond traditional procurement practices. Recognize opportunities for cost reduction, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
• Change Management: Support the implementation of new procurement processes and tools by communicating changes clearly and helping stakeholders navigate and adopt these changes effectively
• Digital Capability for Data Analytics and Business Intelligence: Use relevant procurement tools and systems independently for routine tasks. Seek support for more advanced uses and remain current with evolving digital technologies and practices
• Sustainability & Social Responsibility / Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to ethical standards, environmental guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Support initiatives that promote responsible sourcing and compliance
• Risk Management: Identify basic procurement-related risks and collaborate with stakeholders, including Legal, to manage and mitigate these risks while building knowledge of category-specific risk factors
• Cost Transparency: Track and report procurement costs accurately. Provide clear, detailed cost analyses to inform budgeting and strategic decision-making.
• Typically a non-manufacturing role (for manufacturing, please use J0312 - Buyer)
• Leadership: Ability to take guidance from leader, however strong self leadership ownership of delivering , and strong focus on taking initiative, and solving problems
• Strategic Thinking: Understanding the company's goals, recognizing how their role contributes to these objectives, and identifying opportunities for improvement. They should also show the ability to ask insightful questions, seek out relevant information, and contribute fresh ideas to support the team's strategic initiatives.
