Enterprise Technology Department
The Enterprise Technology department operates as part of the IT function, alongside AI, Cybersecurity, Process & Governance, and Enterprise Strategy & Delivery. Within Enterprise Technology, IT Engineering supports Infrastructure, Network, Service Desk, and IT Service Delivery teams by implementing engineering practices, automation capabilities, operational processes, and tools that help the department deliver reliable services.
The Enterprise Technology Department delivers enterprise-grade infrastructure, networking, end-user services, and service delivery capabilities that support Vantage's global operations. The IT Engineering organization contributes to this mission by executing department priorities, implementing automation and service management practices, and supporting operational consistency across Enterprise Technology. The team collaborates with Infrastructure, Network, Service Desk, and IT Service Delivery functions to improve reliability, efficiency, and service outcomes while aligning to established Enterprise Technology standards and priorities.
IT Engineering Team
The IT Engineering team supports Enterprise Technology by implementing the frameworks, processes, automation platforms, and collaborative tools that help IT teams operate more effectively. The team focuses on execution, operational enablement, service management support, configuration and asset intelligence, infrastructure automation, and consistent engineering practices within the IT Engineering scope.
Position Overview
This role can be based in Denver, CO following our flexible work policy (3 days in-office, 2 days flexible).
The Director, IT Engineering, Global leads the IT Engineering department within Enterprise Technology and is responsible for executing established technology priorities, delivering engineering initiatives, and supporting reliable IT service delivery. This role emphasizes implementation, operational execution, automation, service management support, and measurable departmental results. The Director partners with Infrastructure, Network, Service Desk, and IT Service Delivery teams to implement scalable, secure, and supportable solutions aligned to Enterprise Technology direction and business needs.
Essential Job Functions
Lead the execution of IT Engineering priorities, initiatives, and delivery plans within Enterprise Technology.
Implement automation and standardization initiatives to improve departmental efficiency, consistency, and risk reduction.
Support ITIL-based service management, configuration management, and operational metrics for IT Engineering-supported services.
Execute work in alignment with established security, regulatory, and governance requirements.
Develop and mentor a high-performing IT Engineering team supporting multiple regions.
Partner with cross-functional teams to implement IT Engineering solutions that integrate with existing Enterprise Technology services.
Collaborate with Service Delivery and IT Construction teams during new site activations and infrastructure deployments.
Duties
Manage end-to-end lifecycle of IT engineering projects, including planning, design, implementation, and support.
Establish KPIs and reporting mechanisms to measure performance and reliability.
Maintain documentation and enforce change management processes.
Implement operational controls, reporting routines, and audit support processes within the IT Engineering scope.
Support the adoption of ITIL best practices, including incident, problem, and change management, through engineering tools, processes, and enablement.
Maintain CMDB and asset intelligence capabilities used by Enterprise Technology teams.
Implement operational dashboards, reporting routines, and KPI measurement systems for IT Engineering services and initiatives.
Maintain team communication routines, collaboration practices, and knowledge resources that support IT Engineering delivery.
Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code capabilities and automation pipelines.
Integrate operational tools and automate workflows across platforms.
Apply established infrastructure standards, engineering practices, and reference patterns in IT Engineering deliverables.
Provide capacity and utilization inputs to support infrastructure planning and operational decision-making.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience preferred.
Experience leading IT engineering delivery teams in multi-site organizations, ideally in data center or critical infrastructure environments.
Proven track record managing engineering projects, departmental delivery plans, and cross-functional implementation efforts.
Strong knowledge of IT engineering practices, cloud platforms (Azure, M365), automation frameworks, and ITIL-based service management.
Experience with ITSM tools (preferably ServiceNow), including Incident, Request, and Change management in a global enterprise.
Strong understanding of cybersecurity, compliance, and regulatory requirements relevant to IT operations.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders and leadership.
Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a positive and productive work environment, and promoting collaboration and teamwork.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development in emerging technologies and best practices.
Advanced certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, Azure Solutions Architect, CISSP) are advantageous.
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment, managing multiple competing priorities.
Experience working with service providers and vendors in an international context, demonstrating cultural awareness and adaptability.
Ability to work under limited supervision, both independently and within a team environment, demonstrating self-motivation and initiative.
Ability to execute within established Enterprise Technology strategy, standards, and governance while delivering measurable IT Engineering outcomes.
Travel is expected to be less than 20%.

Additional Details
Salary Range: $185,000-200,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
