Job Description:

The Applications Specialist is responsible for supporting and administering corporate applications used throughout the organization. This role serves as a key contact for application-related requests, ensuring the reliable operation, administration, and continuous improvement of assigned systems.

The Applications Specialist works closely with end users and key users to provide guidance, support, and best practices for effective application usage. The role also includes managing the application catalogue, performing administrative functions within supported applications, and assisting with monitoring and controlling application-related costs.

To succeed in this position, candidates should have experience in application support or IT support roles, strong problem-solving abilities, and good communication skills to effectively collaborate with both technical teams and business users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary contact for requests and issues related to corporate applications within the assigned application portfolio.
  • Provide user support by identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving application-related problems.
  • Work with end-users to provide guidance, best practices, and tips for effective application usage.
  • Collaborate with key users and business stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in application usage and related processes.
  • Perform administrator functions within supported applications, including user administration, access management, configuration, and basic system maintenance.
  • Manage and maintain the corporate application catalogue, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
  • Support application lifecycle activities such as updates, configuration changes, and system improvements.
  • Maintain internal documentation related to supported applications, procedures, and configurations.
  • Ensure supported applications are used in accordance with internal IT policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Assist with monitoring and controlling costs related to corporate applications and software subscriptions.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in an IT support or application support role.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • Good understanding of common corporate applications.
  • Familiarity with application lifecycle management and user provisioning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical teams and business users.
  • Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience administering business or SaaS applications in a corporate environment.
  • Experience with service management tools (e.g., Jira Service Management or similar).
  • Basic understanding of IT service management practices.
