About the Role:
Bluevine is seeking a self-motivated and analytical AML Analyst to join our Risk team. In this role, you will support key Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and anti-money laundering (AML) compliance initiatives, help strengthen internal processes and strategies, and contribute to the continued growth and success of Bluevine. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, results-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
What You’ll Do:
- Review and investigate unusual activity identified through AML alerts and internal referrals by evaluating red flags, validating adverse media, and analyzing high-risk transaction activity flows.
- Apply knowledge of cash management products and correspondent banking to support comprehensive investigations.
- Prepare clear, accurate, and well-supported Unusual Activity Report (UAR) narratives for partner bank.
- Maintain current knowledge of applicable anti-money laundering laws, regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices.
- Identify emerging risks, trends, and patterns through data analysis and external research tools.
- Document and escalate potentially suspicious transactions or activities accurately and promptly.
- Conduct complex investigations involving customer activity, transaction history, and other relevant information.
- Support internal reporting and communication related to AML compliance matters.
- Partner with Fraud and Investigations teams to conduct AML due diligence reviews.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects focused on strengthening controls, improving processes, and increasing operational efficiency.
What We Look For:
- 2+ years of experience in AML compliance or investigations.
- Experience within US banking or financial services, with strong knowledge of AML regulations, processes, and core compliance principles.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, identify patterns and potential risks, and recommend practical solutions.
- Knowledge of Latin American AML regulations and compliance frameworks is a plus.
- ACAMS certification is a plus.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.
