Job Summary
Dallas Mechanical Group provides full-service HVAC, controls, and plumbing construction services to commercial and industrial organizations. Dallas Mechanical Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Human Resources Manager to serve as a trusted business partner and people leader. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by helping to shape our culture, develop talent, support employees, and drive HR strategies that contribute directly to business success. Working closely with leaders across the organization, you will help create a positive employee experience while ensuring operational excellence and compliance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Lead and enhance HR programs that support employees throughout their careers, including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, talent management, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and development.
- Build and execute recruiting strategies that attract talented people who can contribute to our continued growth. Conduct in-person interviews and represent the company at recruiting events.
- Develop a deep understanding of long-term, strategic needs of the organization, including partnering with Company leadership to provide insight into personnel needs to support the future plans of the organization.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, providing practical guidance on workplace matters, employee development, policies, and HR best practices.
- Navigate complex employee relations matters with sound judgment, fairness, and discretion, including conducting timely and thorough workplace investigations.
- Maintain compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws and regulations, including Title VII, FLSA, FMLA, ADA, ADEA, and NLRA.
- Maintain and enhance the company salary structure, job documentation, and job evaluation systems.
- Help employees understand and appreciate the value of their total rewards package by administering programs and serving as a responsive liaison with benefit administrators.
- Create and coordinate learning and development programs that build capabilities and support employee growth.
- Identify and implement practical improvements that make HR processes, policies, and employee experiences more effective.
- Champion initiatives that strengthen our culture, deepen employee engagement, and foster a positive, inclusive workplace.
- Research and investigate employee-related operational issues as requested.
- Build strong relationships with leadership and across the organization through a visible on-site presence that fosters trust, collaboration, and accessibility for employees and leaders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The required qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree
- At least five years of progressive HR experience, with demonstrated success supporting a broad range of HR functions.
- Working knowledge of federal and state employment and labor laws.
- Experience managing employee relations matters and conducting workplace investigations.
- Financial and analytical acumen to develop and administer compensation programs, including annual bonus, sales incentive, spot recognition, and merit programs.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills, with sound judgment and the ability to present recommendations persuasively and credibly.
- A collaborative style and the ability to earn trust and build effective relationships at every level of the organization.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, time management, project management, and follow-through.
- Initiative and agility to work independently, manage competing priorities, and deliver timely results.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, coaching, influencing, conflict-resolution, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to analyze information, synthesize findings, recommend solutions, and engage appropriate stakeholders.
- Ability to balance company, customer, and employee needs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft O365, HRIS, and payroll systems; familiarity with AI and compliance considerations in the HR space.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel (up to 10%).
- Ability to work on-site five days per week.
Additional preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or a related field.
- Human resources certification, such as PHR or SPHR.
- Experience in the service, construction, or a related industry.
- Prior experience managing employees.
