Lead Accountant

The accountant’s job is to review, analyze and report on trading results of the bakery and makes recommendations to the Bakery Manager.
Ensure Financial Standards, Policies and Procedures and Internal Controls are adhered to.
Manage all weekly and monthly financial accounts, accurate budgeting and ensure the accuracy of profits and balance sheet control accounts.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• You are focused on ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the GL by processing monthly journals, preparing reconciliations, cost analysis, inventory reporting and fixed asset register maintenance.
• You will assist internal and external auditors with information/feedback requested and ensure consistent application of internal controls.
• Lead control and monitor the functions of all admin staff
• Analyse weekly financial accounts.
• Plan the cash flow of the bakery and monitor bank accounts.
• Review debtor’s ageing ledger weekly.
• Attend monthly stock counts and reconcile stock movements weekly.
• Compile annual budgets.
• Compile year-end accounts and schedules.
• Implement Financial Standards, Policies and Procedures and internal Controls aligned to the Bakeries BMR (Basic Minimum Requirements).

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TABLE:

• Qualfied CA - Non Negotiable
• Strong communication skills
• Business analytical skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Oracle

Experience

• 2-3 years accounting experience within FMCG or Manufacturing
