Kinrise is a growing, privately owned powerhouse in Australian food manufacturing with some of Australia’s most loved and innovative brands. We describe ourselves as a ‘start up with scale’ and have a burning ambition to grow our business. Formed in 2018 the Kinrise portfolio covers Biscuits, Breakfast, Baking, Bakery, and Snackfood categories and has 40+ years making iconic Australian food, with a rich Australian heritage that’s grounded in family origins.
The role
We are looking for an experienced Category Manager to join our Baking Business Unit and lead the development of insight-led category strategies that drive growth, profitability and stronger customer outcomes.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this role will own the end-to-end category strategy for Baking and Bakery, connecting category, portfolio, innovation, pricing, promotion and customer priorities into clear, actionable plans.
You will work closely with Sales, Finance, R&D and other cross-functional partners to embed a data-driven approach to category decision-making and support Joint Business Planning, range reviews and customer engagement.
What you will do
- Own and develop the Baking & Bakery category strategies, roadmap and growth priorities.
- Analyse shopper, customer and market data to identify growth opportunities across channels and segments.
- Lead portfolio optimisation, including SKU rationalisation and innovation prioritisation.
- Partner with Sales to prepare range reviews, category workshops and JBP inputs with clear, insight-led recommendations.
- Track category performance across internal and external data sources, including Nielsen, Synergy and Quantium.
- Support pricing architecture, promotional effectiveness, trade investment ROI and Revenue Growth Management initiatives.
- Build reporting and dashboards that surface risks and opportunities ahead of the commercial cycle.
- Act as a connector across Marketing, Sales, Finance and R&D to support one aligned commercial plan.
What you will bring
You will bring strong commercial acumen, curiosity and the ability to turn data into practical recommendations that help the business make better decisions. You will be comfortable influencing stakeholders, working at pace and balancing strategic thinking with strong execution.
- 6–9 years’ experience in Category Management, Revenue Growth Management, Commercial, Sales or Marketing roles, ideally within FMCG.
- Experience across Grocery and Independent channels.
- Strong analytical capability and confidence working with category, shopper, pricing and promotional data.
- Experience supporting RGM, pricing, portfolio or integrated commercial planning processes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions without formal authority.
- A degree in Commerce, Business, Marketing or a related field.
