Position Summary:

Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management (PWM) is seeking an experienced technology leader to lead our Sales Enablement and Client Servicing technology capabilities across Asia and Australia.

This role is responsible for defining and executing the technology strategy, roadmap, and delivery for platforms that directly support client servicing and advisor productivity. The successful candidate will lead 2 to 3 squads, partner closely with PWM Business, Operations, Risk, and Control functions, and drive modernization, roadmap discovery and build out, operational excellence, and innovation across a suite of applications.

The role requires a strong blend of technology leadership, business engagement, execution rigor, and people leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Technology Strategy & Execution:

  • Own the technology assets, strategy, architecture direction, and roadmap for PWM Sales Enablement and Client Servicing capabilities.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities that improve advisor productivity, client experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Drive modernization initiatives, platform simplification, automation, AI enablement, and resiliency improvements.
  • Ensure alignment with broader PWM and Wealth Management strategic objectives.

Product & Business Partnership:

  • Build strong relationships with business leads across Sales, Client Service and Operations organizations.
  • Translate business priorities into executable technology roadmaps and measurable outcomes.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders on technology opportunities, risks, and investment decisions.
  • Drive adoption and utilization of technology capabilities across the PWM organization.

Platform Ownership:

Oversee technology capabilities supporting areas including:

  • Sales Enablement suite of applications, such as
    • Launchpad
    • Derivative Holdings Screen
    • Portfolio Management screens
    • Advisor Productivity Tools
    • etc.
  • Client Servicing
    • Client Service Management Platforms
    • Client Reporting and Statements
    • Account Servicing Workflows

The role is accountable for platform performance, stability, resiliency, security, and lifecycle management.

Operational Excellence:

  • Own platform stability, availability, resiliency, and operational risk management.
  • Drive continuous improvement in SDLC, DevOps, observability, automation, and engineering productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with Firm technology standards, security controls, audit requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Lead incident management, production governance, and post-incident remediation efforts.

People Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a capable team of engineers, technical leads, and managers.
  • Build a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Support talent development, training, hiring, and organizational growth.
  • Foster strong engineering practices and technical excellence across the organization.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 15+ years of technology experience with significant leadership responsibilities.
  • Proven experience leading technology organizations and distributed engineering teams.
  • Experience owning complex platforms in financial services, wealth management, banking, or capital markets environments.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering, architecture, cloud technologies, data platforms, APIs, and modern delivery practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders and influence decision-making across business and technology organizations.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with AI-enabled productivity solutions for developers

Preferred:

  • Experience within Private Wealth Management, Asset Management, Brokerage, or Banking organizations.
  • Experience supporting Front Office, Sales, Advisor, or Client Servicing workflows.
  • Experience leading modernization and platform simplification programs.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and control requirements applicable to wealth management businesses.
