Description
Job Type: Part-Time / School-Year Schedule
Location: BIE Cheyenne-Eagle Butte School, 122 East Street, Eagle Butte, South Dakota
Schedule: 3 days per week, 8 hours per day, for 44 weeks during the school year
Requirements
- Current, valid, and unrestricted South Dakota license to independently practice Speech-Language Therapy, with applicable professional certification.
- Minimum 2 years of school-based Speech-Language Therapy experience, including work with students with special needs.
- Experience developing, implementing, monitoring, and updating IEPs.
- Strong knowledge of South Dakota and Federal special education requirements, evaluations, eligibility, and timelines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to complete required background/security clearance. Experience with Native American students is preferred.
Duties
- Provide speech-language therapy to special education students in accordance with their IEPs.
- Conduct evaluations and reevaluations, prepare reports, and develop or update IEPs.
- Monitor student goals, maintain accurate therapy records, and document student progress.
- Participate in IEP/eligibility meetings and coordinate with teachers, parents, Special Education staff, and school leadership.
- Provide consultation, staff/parent guidance, and recommendations for appropriate therapeutic equipment and resources.
