This position will assist the Director, Risk Management with day-to-day management and development of the WVU Medicine Enterprise Risk Management Program and will be responsible for tracking timely completion of projects and reports. This position will also provide coverage for the Risk Management Department, which may at times involve 24/7 on call coverage.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

1. Three (3) years of healthcare, risk management, patient safety, clinical, insurance, enterprise risk management project management, or related field. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Risk Management certification

EXPERIENCE:

1. Experience in a hospital environment

2. EPIC (EHR) experience

3. Experience with data analysis, trending, and/or dashboard development

4. Paralegal experience

1. Provides project management coordination and support for projects and their activities including, but not limited to, determining the plan schedule of deadlines and project completion, developing action plans, and coordinates the implementation and completion in collaboration with appropriate internal and external parties. 

2. Develops and coordinates communication to all program stakeholders and other necessary individuals/groups. 

3. Develops, prepares, and analyzes various metrics to monitor improvements and/or opportunities as it relates to patient care, risk management, quality, and finance. 

4. In coordination with the Director, Risk Management, oversees the investigation, documentation, and oversite of visitor incidents.

5. Participates with the development and maintenance of key risk indicators.

6. Assists in the development of risk articles of interest for a Risk Management newsletter and/or safety alerts.

7. Coordinates the write off medical bills related to a significant event.

8. Assists with the development and coordination of medical error disclosure and second victim programs.

9. Assists with analyzing and identifying risk across all domains.

10. Assists with day-to-day activities of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Program.

11. Provides back-up risk management coverage for risk on call, sickness and/or personal time off. 

12. Assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to overall risk management practices.

13. Assists in the development and compilation of reports regarding key risks and mitigation plans for Executive Leadership and oversite committees.
