HR Manager – Employee Relations & HR Operations
We are looking for a HR Manager with strong Employee Relations and HR Operations experience to join the team. You will report directly to the Sr. HR Director and be responsible for managing all ER matters that arise. You will also work alongside the HR & Recruitment Manager in the management of the day-to-day HR operations in Manila.
You will have a strong knowledge of Philippines labor law and be experienced in managing employee relations matters, such as disciplinary and grievance processes, performance management, absence management, and employee misconduct.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive and hands on individual with the ability to multi-task across HR operations and employee relations tasks and work in an environment that is fast paced and entrepreneurial. Key Accountabilities of the Role
- Support & manage employee relations matters for the Manila location, ensuring all legislative requirements are adhered to at all times and all required documentation is produced to a high standard. Responsibilities include:
- Advising and supporting managers in the effective management of new joiners during the probation period.
- Providing guidance and support to managers in addressing performance and conduct-related issues.
- Advising and supporting managers throughout the full Performance Improvement Plan process, including providing advice at each stage, and facilitating and taking notes of PIP meetings.
- Providing guidance to managers in relation to formal disciplinary and grievance processes, attending formal meetings as required and preparing relevant documentation.
- Documenting employee relations processes and procedures for the Manila office.
- Ensuring company policies and processes remain compliant with legislative requirements and are updated promptly to reflect any changes in labor law.
- Keeping abreast of all employment law developments and requirements, communicating any anticipated changes to the Sr. HR Director in advance of implementation.
- Conduct exit interviews.
- Deliver people management training, as required.
- Establish strong, collaborative relationships with managers and senior leaders in the business acting as a trusted advisor on people-related matters.
- Work alongside the HR & Recruitment Manager in the management of the day-to-day HR Operations, providing support in other HR operations tasks as needed, for example employee on-boarding and offboarding and benefits administration.
- Provide cover for HR & Recruitment Manager as required.
- Contribute to ad hoc projects as required
- Amenable to work European hours
- Hybrid working arrangements – may be required to spend time working in the office as well as working from home
Pre-requisite Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in HR and employee relations
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or relevant HR certification
- Certification in employment law desired
- Experienced in employee relations and HR operations, ideally in a fast-paced organization
- Strong knowledge of Philippines employment law
- Experience managing and providing support in formal disciplinary and grievance processes
- Ability to establish strong relationships across all levels of the organization
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality and discretion with good judgement
- High level of initiative and proactivity with a hands-on, can-do approach
- Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask
- Good analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
