Matthew Sercely is the Owner of Agorist Tax Advice, PLLC, a tax advisory firm helping high-earning W2 employees and business owners with tax advice and strategic tax planning. Matthew is an attorney who combines law, systems thinking, and practical problem-solving to help clients understand complex tax issues and make informed decisions. Agorist Tax Advice primarily serves entrepreneurs, business owners, and individuals, with many clients coming from the freedom and liberty-focused community.
We’re looking for a highly trustworthy, detail-oriented, and self-directed Virtual Assistant who can take ownership of administrative responsibilities and make sure important details don’t get missed. You’ll work closely with the Owner, who is a big-picture thinker and values people who can research an issue, use good judgment, keep him updated, and ask for help when needed. Being open-minded, respectful of different perspectives, and comfortable working in a freedom and liberty-focused environment is an important part of working well with the team.

This role is especially important in keeping client information, workflows, and follow-ups organized and moving forward. Because you’ll have access to highly sensitive tax, financial, and client information, strict confidentiality, strong security practices, and sound judgment are essential. Protecting client information is a critical part of this role.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Entering and processing client documents in TaxDome
- Updating the CRM and maintaining accurate client records and workflows
- Following up with clients and making sure open items are completed
- Tracking missing information and communicating with clients to obtain what’s needed
- Keeping TaxDome organized and up-to-date using established checklists
- Preparing and organizing information for the Owner
- Handling standardized client communications and outreach
- Sending meeting preparation materials and reminders
- Sending follow-up information to clients after calls with the Owner
- Supporting administrative portions of the sales process
- Supporting inbox and calendar delegation
- Making occasional client phone calls when a client prefers phone communication
- Creating light Canva or presentation design updates to polish decks and other materials
- Pulling reports from QuickBooks Online

- Reliable and consistent, with strong communication and the ability to keep the Owner updated and know when to raise an issue
- Adaptable and comfortable learning established systems, processes, and preferred ways of working
- Open-minded, logical, and thoughtful when working through different perspectives and decisions
- Curious and able to understand the “why” behind processes
- Security-conscious when working with sensitive client and financial information
- You must be tech-savvy and quick to pick up new tools and software

Position Details
- This is a W2 position
- Benefits include PTO, Sick Time, Paid Holidays and a 401(k) with a 100% match on the first 3% contributed and a 50% match on the next 2%
- The pay rate is $30/hr. USD
- The position will be 30-40 hours per week, with the potential to increase to full-time by April or May 2027
- Hours are flexible with some overlap required between 8:30 am-5:30 pm CT for live calls
- You must have 100% availability from April 1-15 every year, with no vacations or PTO during this period
- An additional 5-10 hours per week and occasional longer days may be needed during tax season
- Domestic travel may be needed after the first 6-9 months, typically 1-2 three-day trips per year for mastermind meetings
- You must be able to pass a background check
- We are looking for someone to become a long-term (3+ years) team member
