WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Sheriff’s Office is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and motivated professional to serve as an Office Services Coordinator. The ideal candidate demonstrates sound judgment, initiative, and adaptability in a dynamic work environment. The successful applicant will exhibit strong communication and analytical skills, a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams. A background in administrative coordination, data management, and technology-supported office operations will contribute to success in this role.
The Office Services Coordinator provides critical administrative support and coordination for daily office operations. This role requires strong technical skills, professionalism, discretion, and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff across multiple divisions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Utilize computers and electronic systems to plan, schedule, and coordinate daily operations and activities.
- Manage, research, and maintain information using databases, spreadsheets, and online resources.
- Digitize, organize, and maintain accurate records, files, and documentation.
- Prepare, process, and distribute correspondence, reports, forms, and data for internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate with staff across multiple sections of the Sheriff’s Office to ensure efficient workflow and effective communication.
- Provide guidance and training to colleagues on office systems, technology tools, and best practices.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in handling sensitive information.
- Perform related administrative duties as assigned in support of departmental operations.
The employee will use a computer and various electronic devices/systems to plan, schedule, communicate, research (the Internet and various information systems), digitize information (scanner), create, exchange, record and use information (databases), make/check calculations (calculator/spreadsheet), etc. May coach others in information system use and work across various sections within the Sheriff’s Office.
This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting the daily operations of one of Montgomery County’s key public safety agencies. This role directly contributes to efficient service delivery, internal accountability, and operational success of the Sheriff’s Office.
Experience: Four (4) years of progressively responsible office support experience. This would include:
- Strong administrative, clerical, or office coordination experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other computer-based systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of accuracy, discretion, and attention to detail.
Education: Graduation from high school or high school certificate completion recognized in the State of Maryland.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
The selected applicant will be required to successfully complete a background investigation and a physical examination that includes a drug/alcohol screen prior to appointment.
