A DAY IN THE LIFE:

The Director, Product Marketing; Integrated Systems, is a senior marketing leader responsible for establishing product marketing strategy and overseeing a portfolio of product marketing activities across key business areas. This position provides leadership for core product marketing initiatives to ensure alignment among product strategy, commercial priorities, and customer needs.

This role has direct management responsibility for product marketing leaders overseeing CGM integrations, which connect Tandem insulin delivery systems with compatible continuous glucose monitoring technologies to support automated insulin delivery; Tandem Source, the company’s diabetes management platform; and Sugarmate by Tandem, a companion app designed to help people with diabetes and caregivers get more value from data through enhanced visualization, customizable tools, and data sharing. The Director is also responsible for product and launch execution for assigned products and partners closely with Product, Commercial, Sales, Clinical, and other cross-functional teams to drive launch readiness, coordinate execution, and support effective business performance.

The Dir, Product Marketing at Tandem is also responsible for;

  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, and performance management for product marketing leaders responsible for CGM integrations, Tandem Source and Sugarmate by Tandem.
  • Lead product marketing strategy and planning across assigned business areas, ensuring alignment with product roadmaps, commercial objectives, and organizational priorities.
  • Develop and maintain product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies that support product adoption, customer engagement, and business performance.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to support prioritization, launch readiness, lifecycle planning, and market development activities for assigned products.
  • Lead launch execution for assigned products by coordinating cross-functional workstreams, key milestones, and readiness activities to support successful commercialization.
  • Oversee product marketing plans across a portfolio of products and initiatives, balancing short-term business needs with longer-term strategic objectives.
  • Provide leadership for assigned products throughout the launch lifecycle, including planning, execution oversight, performance monitoring, and adjustment of plans based on market feedback and business results.
  • Lead market assessments, customer insight synthesis, and performance reviews to identify opportunities, risks, and recommended actions.
  • Collaborate with Commercial, Sales, Product, Clinical, and other cross-functional stakeholders to support effective execution against business goals and market needs.
  • Build organizational capability by strengthening team alignment, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and developing talent across the broader product marketing organization.
  • Support organizational planning activities, including resource planning, budgeting, headcount, and training needs for the function.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including senior leaders, product managers, and individual contributors.
  • Participate in the selection, development, performance evaluation, compensation planning, and promotion of staff in accordance with company policies and practices.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, health sciences, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 10+ years of related experience in marketing, product marketing, or product management.
  • 7+ years of leadership experience with visibility to senior management, including experience managing managers.
  • Demonstrated experience in product marketing, portfolio strategy, or commercial leadership within the healthcare, medical device, or pharmaceutical industry.
  • General understanding of the diabetes industry is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success as a cross-functional leader with strong knowledge of healthcare from provider, patient, and manufacturer perspectives.
  • Strong product marketing expertise across positioning, messaging, go-to-market planning, lifecycle management, and commercial execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through managers, align teams around priorities, and drive accountability in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills and the ability to develop and execute product marketing plans across product lines, customer segments, and geographies.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional teams.
  • Strong experience in product management and/or product marketing, including requirements development, roadmap planning, portfolio strategy, new product development, product launch, and execution.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills, including experience using data and performance reporting to derive insights and support decision-making.
  • Ability to establish and communicate a clear vision, align resources, and set expectations to achieve functional objectives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other standard business software applications.
  • Ability to communicate departmental issues, project updates, and results clearly within and across functions and to secure alignment from key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead collaborative teams, organize resources effectively, and prioritize decisions based on overall business and team needs.

WHEN & WHERE YOU’LL WORK:

Hybrid: This role will be a mix of in-office work at our corporate headquarters in Del Mar, CA and remote work. This position is expected to be in office 2-3 days per week but may vary depending on business demands. 

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The starting base pay range for this position is $174,100.00 - 221,900.00 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate’s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus and a robust benefits package.
