Imaging Specialist (DXA)
As an Imaging Specialist at ICON, you will provide technical imaging expertise to support clinical trial activities, ensuring high-quality image acquisition, processing, and review in accordance with study protocols and Core Lab requirements.
What You Will Do:
You will contribute to imaging operations and clinical trial delivery, taking responsibility for image quality activities and collaborating closely with study teams, clinical sites, and Core Lab stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Performing image quality review and image processing activities according to study protocols, imaging charters, and standard operating procedures.
- Conducting technical assessments of imaging sites to ensure compliance with study-specific imaging requirements.
- Providing guidance and technical support to clinical site personnel regarding DXA imaging procedures, acquisition protocols, and image submission requirements.
- Collaborating with Project Managers and cross-functional teams to support client deliverables and study objectives.
- Monitoring imaging workflows and supporting blinded read activities to ensure timelines and quality standards are maintained.
- Identifying and escalating image quality issues, protocol deviations, and technical concerns as appropriate.
- Maintaining accurate documentation and supporting audit and inspection readiness activities.
- Contributing to process improvement initiatives and sharing imaging best practices across projects and teams.
- Keeping current with developments in DXA imaging, body composition analysis, bone densitometry, and clinical research methodologies.
- Participating in occasional travel to clinical research sites and supporting imaging-related activities outside standard business hours when required.
Your Profile:
You will bring strong imaging experience within a clinical or research environment, along with the following qualifications and skills.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Qualified Radiographer, Radiologic Technologist, Imaging Technologist, or equivalent recognized imaging qualification.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience performing and reviewing DXA (DEXA) imaging studies.
- Strong understanding of DXA imaging principles, image acquisition techniques, and image quality assessment.
- Knowledge of body composition analysis and bone densitometry procedures.
- Experience working within Clinical Research, Clinical Trials, Core Laboratory environments, or regulated healthcare settings is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to evaluate image quality against protocol requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and imaging-related software platforms.
- Experience with image management systems and electronic image transfer platforms.
- English level Advanced
