Position Summary
Engineering is a core discipline at F5 for many roles. As a software engineer specializing in products and services, you will bring a modern, agile development mindset to your work.
As a Principal SDE, your primary responsibility will be to develop, configure, and enhance software applications and services. By incorporating engineering best practices, you will play a crucial role in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and providing support for software and service solutions. Collaborating with fellow engineers and cross-functional teams, you will contribute to the development of novel solutions and technologies. Additionally, you will apply the same rigor to refine existing solutions as required.
What You’ll Do
- Order to Cash Solution Engineering: Apply modern engineering principles and practices throughout the full software lifecycle—from initial concept and design through deployment, maintenance, and refinement of Order to Cash applications.
- Functional Proof of Concepts (PoCs): Drive and execute hands-on functional and technical Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to evaluate, validate, and demonstrate new Oracle Fusion Cloud features, functionality, and complex business configurations.
- Oracle Fusion & EBS Ownership: Take ownership of complex technical and functional challenges spanning Oracle Fusion Cloud (Fusion Order Management, Fusion Subscription, RMCS) and Oracle EBS (Order Management, Service Contracts, Pricing, Inventory, Shipping).
- System Design & Security: Design, build, and maintain highly complex O2C software and integration solutions with a security-first mindset, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
- Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the SDE community, fostering team growth and helping peers upskill in Oracle Fusion Cloud technologies and modern engineering best practices.
- Architectural & Process Improvements: Proactively seek out opportunities for architectural optimizations, process improvements, and technical innovations to align with evolving business models.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional delivery teams, product managers, and enterprise architecture to translate business requirements into robust, scalable software designs.
- Engineering Best Practices: Champion rigorous engineering standards across all phases of development, including code and configuration reviews, automated testing, and DevSecOps deployment practices.
- Ethics & Compliance: Uphold F5’s Business Code of Ethics and promptly report violations of the Code or company policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You’ll Bring
- Deep Oracle Fusion Cloud Expertise: Hands-on engineering and configuration experience with Oracle Fusion Cloud, with particular strength in Fusion Order Management, Fusion Subscription, and Revenue Management Cloud Service (RMCS).
- Oracle EBS Proficiency: Strong technical and functional familiarity with core Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) modules, including Order Management, Subscriptions, Service Contracts, Pricing, Inventory, and Shipping.
- Functional PoC Execution: Demonstrated ability to independently design, configure, and execute functional Proofs of Concept (PoCs) to validate cloud business processes and solution feasibility.
- Order to Cash Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of end-to-end Order to Cash business processes, recurring revenue and subscription lifecycles, pricing logic, and fulfillment workflows.
- Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Experience in technical leadership roles with a demonstrated ability to mentor peers and guide technical decision-making.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills, with a proven ability to break down complex issues and provide reliable level-of-effort estimates.
- Agile & DevSecOps Practice: Solid understanding of agile and lean software development methodologies, DevSecOps principles, and modern integration patterns (APIs, web services).
- Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both technical teams and business stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Education: BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- Total Experience: 12+ years of engineering experience supporting, configuring, or implementing enterprise systems in Information Technology.
- Oracle O2C Experience:
- Hands-on engineering experience supporting and configuring Oracle EBS and Oracle Fusion Cloud Order to Cash solutions.
- Hands-on experience building and executing functional Proofs of Concept (PoCs) in Oracle Fusion Cloud environments.
- Software Delivery: Proven track record of designing, building, and delivering scalable enterprise software solutions using agile principles.
- Languages & Integration: Advanced knowledge in high-level programming or scripting languages, software design patterns, and enterprise integration techniques.
