The Grants, Operations, and Compliance Manager oversees grant administration, operational compliance, and business processes that support organizational effectiveness. This role partners across departments to ensure compliance funding requirements, strengthen operational systems, mitigate risk and support the successful execution of organizational priorities.Job Description
Grant Management & Compliance
Manage post-award grant administration for public funding sources, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements
Monitor grant-funded activities and expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets and regulations
Maintain thorough documentation and audit-ready records for all grants
Support compliance with AmeriCorps and other government-funded program requirements
Conduct compliance monitoring activities, including site visits and internal reviews
Reporting & Data Coordination
Lead preparation and submission of timely, accurate grant reports (financial, programmatic, and outcomes-based)
Coordinate with program and data teams to collect, verify, and synthesize required reporting data
Collaborate with finance to reconcile expenditures and produce financial reports
Track reporting deadlines and deliverables through a centralized grants calendar
Operations & Process Management
Maintain and improve internal systems for grant tracking, reporting, and compliance workflows
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce risk
Support internal training and guidance on grant compliance and reporting expectations
Assist with AmeriCorps contract management and related operational requirements
Selective Grant Writing Support
Provide support on local, state, and federal grant applications, including writing, assembling materials, formatting, and compliance review
Coordinate internal inputs for proposals when needed, ensuring accuracy and alignment
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as a liaison between Advancement, Finance, and Program teams to ensure aligned grant execution
Support organization-wide initiatives, events, and trainings as needed
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in public administration, nonprofit management, business, finance, or related field
2–6 years of experience in grant administration, compliance, or government funding management
Strong knowledge of grant reporting and compliance requirements, especially for public funding (federal/state/local)
Experience working with financial reports, budgets, and data tracking
Exceptional organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in reporting and documentation
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management systems
Ability to work independently while collaborating across teams
Preferred
Experience with AmeriCorps or other federally funded programs
Familiarity with nonprofit or education-based organizations
Experience supporting audits or compliance reviews
