Role Title: Task Title: Future Air C3 - Radar / Sensing (HF and Microwave) Engineering and Technical Support
Role Description:
• Amentum is seeking an experienced specialist in Radar Systems (HF and Microwave) to provide expertise into the production, review, update and management of IAMD Sensing capability project documentation and supporting artefacts (including the conduct of workshops as required).
Key responsibilities:
• The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of autonomy, providing technical advice and supporting capability development, project milestones and decision-making activities. The candidate will serve as a technical subject matter expert for HF and Microwave sensing, interoperability and network capabilities supporting the IAMD architecture for the Australian Defence Force, with emphasis on OTHR systems. Including the development, integration, testing, deployment and sustainment of HF and Microwave sensors, and sensor networking and track correlation
Essential Requirements:
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience, approximately six years’, with HF and Microwave Radar activities.
• Ability to work in a dynamic and emerging project environment as an integral part of a small high performing team, and to bring an agile, collaborative and innovative approach to the task.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the development of Defence Capability Development documents and artefacts in the ADF Capability Framework.
• Demonstrated knowledge and recent experience dealing with stakeholders such as, Force Integration and Force Design Divisions, and Defence Science & Technology Group
• Demonstrated project management and technical qualifications and experience with HF and Microwave Radar.
• Highly effective communication skills and the ability to effectively influence a wide range of senior military and civilian stakeholders.
• Experience with sensor signal processing, transmitter and receiver design, antenna systems, electro‑optical and infrared sensors, radio frequency propagation and electromagnetic compatibility.
• Hands‑on experience in defence communications, data links, sensor integration and Global Navigation Satellite System integration, with demonstrable experience on Air Defence, IAMD or Air Surveillance programmes.
• Candidate must be located in Canberra, Adelaide or the surrounding area.
• Candidate must hold a security clearance of NV1.

- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Software engineering or similar
Required Security Clearance Level: NV1
Location: Canberra (Mandatory)
Hours: 80hr per fortnight, as agreed with client.
