Description
Eaton’s IS VEH VGGP division is currently seeking a Automotive Solutions Software Developer.
Eaton announced, on June 11, 2026, the intent to combine its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) with a new company. We expect to complete this process by the end of the first half of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the transaction closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.
## What you’ll do:
This position is to be part of a team creating/developing driveline software solutions for vehicle applications, leading and creating new software solutions, specially on lower layers of software development, requiring C and C++ skills and application solutions with Matlab/Simulink. As a member of the team, will work closely with System Engineering to help define requirements, contribute to definition of hardware designs, generate controls algorithm solutions and models, define test plans and perform validation testing to confirm that system and functional requirements are met. In this role, you will work with your engineering manager to estimate development, resources, and timing to achieve the desired results, build new procedures to develop ISO26262 and AUTOSAR capabilities. Achieving the desired results will require individual contributions as well as contributions attained as part of a team. Will work closely with engineers and global team members.
Job Responsibilities
A. Develop vehicle software modeling and simulation activities to predict performance and impact due to hardware variability. Support prototype and production OEM vehicle integration and development efforts from the driveline controls perspective (e.g., configuration, calibration and drivability). Work with engine/electric motor & vehicle OEMs to support the development & validation of system functionality & optimal performance with Eaton Automated Transmissions to Eaton & customer requirements/specifications.
B. Build Communications protocols, creating the interface of the system to powertrain modules, assembly line tests and OEM devices.
C. Support performance guidelines, requirements, and specifications for vehicle OEMs, engine OEMs, and transmission product teams.
D. Provide/communicate to engine & transmission organizations with approval/rejection disposition of transmission compatibility with engine or vehicle versus performance requirements or customer expectations.
E. Identify root cause and corrective action associated with the engine or vehicle AMT-integration
F. Develop controls strategies and model architecture design, with the technical experts, to achieve solutions. Use simulation tools to efficiently perform design iterations and optimization. Verify solutions created by you or other team members through simulation, sub-system and vehicle level testing..
G. Support guidelines, requirements, and specifications for engine OEMs, truck OEMs, & transmission product teams.
H. Make use of engineering tools such as DFMEA,DFSS, DFM/DFA and Concurrent Engineering in order to attend organizational target of a flawless launch.
I. Analyze customer technical requirements and standards and adequately address eventual necessary changes to the engineering center responsible for the respective transmission platform and/or to Manufacturing, SCM, Quality, etc.
J. Eaton new systems development. Including new actuators and electronics system.

## Qualifications:
Education level required
Technologist or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering (Mechatronic, Electronics) or related area
Years and area of experience required
Extensive experience in automotive product engineering and embbeded software development.
Mandatory Technical knowledge
- Expertise on MatLab/Simulink and knowledge on CAN, CANalyzer and SAE J1939 communication standard, CANape;
- Demonstrated strong problem solving and root cause analysis skills;
- C, C++ programming language;
- Advanced English language skill.
Preferred Technical knowledge
1. Six Sigma tools knowledge for product development;
2. ISO 26262, ASpice, AUTOSAR;
3. Automotive software development skills:
- Analog to digital conversion (ADC),
- Solenoid diagnostics
- Real-time operating systems
- Experience in automotive or commercial vehicle dynamics, vehicle powertrain, or chassis control systems
- Understanding of powertrain or chassis control principles, components, and system variants.
- ECU Calibration development
- Automated HIL testing
