Job Summary
State Street is seeking an experienced and innovative Agentic Quality Engineering Lead (AVP) to drive the next generation of software quality assurance through AI-powered testing, intelligent automation, and Agentic Engineering practices.
This leadership role will be responsible for transforming traditional quality engineering into a scalable, AI-enabled capability by integrating Agentic AI solutions across the software development lifecycle. The successful candidate will lead quality engineering teams, establish enterprise-wide testing strategies, and drive adoption of intelligent testing frameworks, automation platforms, and AI governance practices.
The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in quality engineering, software delivery, and test automation with a strong understanding of Generative AI, Agentic systems, and modern software engineering practices.

What you will be responsible for
As Agentic Quality Engineering Lead, you will:
Strategy & Transformation
- Define and execute the strategic roadmap for Agentic Quality Engineering.
- Drive quality transformation initiatives aligned with enterprise AI and engineering objectives.
- Champion adoption of AI-enabled testing practices across development organizations.
- Establish quality engineering standards, governance models, and operational metrics.
Agentic Testing & AI Innovation
- Design and implement intelligent testing frameworks leveraging Agentic AI capabilities.
- Lead development of AI-powered testing solutions including:
- Autonomous test generation
- Intelligent test maintenance
- Self-healing automation
- Defect prediction and analysis
- Release risk assessment
- Partner with AI engineering teams to validate and govern AI-powered products and solutions.
- Develop quality assurance strategies for LLM-based applications, copilots, chatbots, and Agentic workflows.
Quality Engineering Leadership
- Lead and mentor distributed Quality Engineering and SDET teams.
- Drive engineering excellence through automation-first testing practices.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and technology modernization.
- Support talent development and succession planning within the QA organization.
Test Automation & Delivery Excellence
- Define enterprise automation strategy and implementation roadmap.
- Improve automation coverage across UI, API, integration, and non-functional testing.
- Integrate automated quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
- Promote Shift-Left and Shift-Right quality practices.
- Drive continuous improvement of quality metrics and delivery outcomes.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Define quality controls for Agentic AI systems and AI-enabled solutions.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise AI governance, security, and risk management standards.
- Establish frameworks for:
- Agent validation
- Output evaluation
- Hallucination mitigation
- Traceability and auditability
- Responsible AI adoption
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Security, and Business stakeholders.
- Provide executive reporting on quality performance, automation maturity, and operational risks.
- Influence technology investment decisions related to quality engineering and AI enablement.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of software quality engineering experience.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing QA and Quality Engineering teams.
- Proven experience leading enterprise-wide automation initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
- Experience working within large-scale enterprise technology environments.
Technical Expertise
Experience with several of the following:
- Automated testing frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent)
- API and service testing
- CI/CD platforms
- Cloud-native architectures
- Test data management
- Performance and resilience testing
- Quality engineering metrics and reporting
AI & Agentic Experience
Preferred experience in:
- Generative AI solutions
- Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Agentic AI platforms and frameworks
- Prompt Engineering
- AI evaluation methodologies
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
- AI governance and responsible AI practices
- Intelligent automation platforms
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience in financial services, banking, or regulated industries.
- Relevant certifications in Quality Engineering, Cloud, AI, or Agile methodologies.
- Experience leading AI-enabled software delivery transformation programs.
