We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.

This candidate is responsible for delivering piping design and engineering work packages for specific projects in accordance to specific contractual agreements and in collaboration with technical subject mater experts external partners / subcontractors
Job Duties:
Design compliant piping systems and layouts and incorporate detailed piping stress calculations
Incorporate specialized cryogenic components into system designs, including vaporizers, cold boxes, cryogenic pumps, storage tanks, relief valves, compressors, and vacuum-insulated pipelines
Generate accurate 3D piping models and extract detailed 2D deliverables, including piping isometrics and equipment layouts in full compliance with relevant industry codes and standards.
Develop, review, and modify piping and instrumentation diagrams in close collaboration with process engineers or external vendors.
Prepare comprehensive bills of materials and material requisitions to support procurement and construction activities.
Manage facility design projects and related services from conceptual design through to commissioning and roll-out.
Define project design scopes, perform project risk assessments, and maintain strict cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare project documentation, operations manuals, and ready-for-start-up reviews.
Provides on-site technical support to resolve construction queries and clarify design intent.
Takes part in developing new technologies and services.
Ensure all designs and project elements satisfy Air Liquide health, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Maintain strict compliance with North American regulations, including ASME B31.3, ASME B31.5 , ANSI, CSA, NFPA, CGA standards, and legislation governing pressure vessels and building codes.
Participate actively in multidisciplinary design reviews, safety reviews

Are you a MATCH?
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology with an equivalent piping design certification/technical trade background.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial piping design and project engineering, with at least 2 years dedicated to cryogenic or low-temperature environments.
Advanced proficiency in 3D modeling platforms (e.g. Intergraph Smart 3D, or AutoCAD Plant 3D).
Strong command of 2D drafting platforms (e.g. AutoCAD, MicroStation, Smart plant) and modeling review/clash detection tools (Navisworks).
