## The team you will be a part of
The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.
## This role in summary
Responsible for design and development of component(s)/module by preparing concepts for Aesthetic components for Laundry products. Builds on organizational/process knowledge, understands business needs. Solves simple problems, analyzes and provides solutions/ alternatives. Moderate guidance and direction needed.
## Your responsibilities will include
- Translate product level requirements into subsystem/module/component design criteria
- Develop and execute design & verification of Subsystem/Module/Components on schedule and at required cost, quality, and performance levels
- Own engineering release of subsystem design including component and module CAD (Computer Aided Design), Drawings, and BOMs (Bill of Materials). Utilize the PLM (Windchill) system for design release, documentation control and workflow.
- Perform /Support/contribute DFMEA, Tolerance stack up analysis and apply DFx (DFA, DFM, DFR, DFS, DFSS) methodologies during product design and development.
- Drive engineering calculations as required supporting Design integrity.
- Manage design tradeoffs between cost, aesthetics, performance, and other design attributes.
- Align current capability of architecture/supplier/manufacturing/customer solutions to meet product attribute targets and identify solutions for projects where current capability does not align to targets.
- Define a work plan and divide tasks/responsibilities between projects taking into account priorities, milestones and results to be achieved.
- Demonstrate project management skills to drive projects through the design, testing, and implementation phase in a timely manner.
## Minimum requirements
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS : B.Tech - Mech/ BE Mech , M.Tech/M.E. - Design / Mechanical
EXPERIENCE: B.E / B.Tech : 4 - 8 years /M.Tech : 2 - 4 years
Key Deliverables
- Led Product / Subsystem / Module / Component designs & release drawings as per the requirements in terms of cost, quality and timelines of the project.
- Product Design tools - Concept Selection Matrix, DFMEA, Tolerance Stack Ups, DVP etc.
- Generate Model Shop / Lab requests / Simulation requests and support in Virtual/ Physical builds.
- Participate in and lead Technical Design Previews for Modules / Components.
- Understand the PPAP process and lead implementation of change in Product.
MANAGERIAL
1. Exposure/experience of working in a global engineering team environment
2. Team player, flexibility in adapting to quickly changing business task/project priorities.
3. Good business communication (written/verbal) and Presentation skills.
## Preferred skills and experiences
TECHNICAL
1\. Knowledge/Experience of designing parts in Plastics & Sheet metal, Molding, Casting and other manufacturing processes and materials
2\. Basic knowledge of fundamental engineering principles and tools to verify design for assembly/ Reliability/ Manufacturability/ Safety.
4\. Proficient in GD&T, Design Standards, variation analysis.
5\. Basic awareness and understanding of metal, alloy & polymer materials.
6\. Ability to interpret Simulation / Test results.
7\. Proficient in Product Development process.
8.Awareness in project planning & management.
9.Awareness/hands on experience on Six sigma/OPEX/ Lean tools and practices.
10\. Proficient in TRIZ methodology.
