The Position

We are looking for a highly skilled Platform Technical Analyst - Appian to join our team to architect and drive the technical delivery of digital products and solutions across the Market Access Insights & Forecasting (MAIF) value team. If you are a senior engineer with strong knowledge of Appian passionate about business process management and leveraging AI-driven engineering to maximize automation and drive efficiency, this role is for you. 

What will you do?

• Act as the primary technical authority for the squad, setting design standards, development patterns, and coding best practices in the Appian engineering team.
• Design, develop, and maintain complex Appian applications to support MAIF products.
• Lead BPM implementation efforts and define the technical architecture, ensuring alignment with the overarching product vision and roadmap.
• Oversee external and vendor development teams, conducting rigorous code reviews and ensuring strict adherence to quality and technical architecture standards.
• Champion and implement AI-driven engineering methods as a required way of working throughout the software development lifecycle to maximize automation and efficiency.
• Provide hands-on senior engineering support to resolve complex technical challenges and remove technical roadblocks for the delivery squad.
• Ensure product quality, security, scalability, and operability of all technical deliverables.
• Provide technical mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback for internal and external engineering staff.
• Maintain open and clear communication regarding technical status, system performance, and architectural risks to stakeholders.
• Continuously assess and refine the technical toolchain and engineering processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and code quality.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience Required

• Background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field.
• Proven hands-on experience as a Senior Engineer, Tech Lead, or Technical Architect (5+ years).
• Extensive, proven experience in BPM application design and development including backend database integration.
• Deep expertise (3+ years) in Appian application development.
• Demonstrated ability to establish technical design standards, development patterns, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience overseeing and reviewing the work of vendor development teams for code quality and architectural compliance.
• Deep commitment to AI-driven engineering as a standard way of working, utilizing GenAI tools to streamline coding, testing, and deployment.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed architectural decisions.
• Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders (such as Delivery Leads and Product Owners).
• Familiarity with modern IT infrastructure, agile software development lifecycles, and emerging technologies.
• Proactive and capable of taking the initiative to drive technical excellence and product quality.
   

Nice to have

• Understanding of commercial business processes in healthcare: Market Access, Product Launch & Pricing, Gross-to-Net, Commercial Trade Channels, Parallel Trade, Patient Access.
• Experience with the following technologies: Databricks, AWS, Microsoft PowerBI, PowerAutomate, Google Gemini Enterprise, Salesforce CRM, Appian BPM, SAP Commerce Cloud, Sharepoint.
• Experience working in a global diverse environment.
• Deep understanding of how to use AI and GenAI to automate and streamline business processes and IT delivery.
