Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Lead Design to join our team! In this role, you will lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design activities, ensuring high-quality project delivery, technical excellence, and compliance with project requirements from concept through execution.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design development activities across complex projects.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to design teams, ensuring quality, consistency, and compliance with project objectives.
Review and oversee design deliverables to ensure alignment with client requirements, project standards, and applicable regulations.
Monitor design progress, deliverable quality, and adherence to project schedules and milestones.
Collaborate closely with Project Managers and discipline leads to resolve technical, resource, and delivery challenges.
Support project planning, scope definition, scheduling, and resource allocation activities.
Facilitate coordination between internal teams, consultants, clients, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure effective integration of design disciplines and maintain consistency across all project documentation.
Identify, assess, and resolve complex technical and design-related issues through practical and innovative solutions.
Promote best practices, continuous improvement initiatives, and knowledge sharing within the team.
Support the development and implementation of design standards, procedures, and quality management processes.
Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and professional working environment that encourages teamwork and innovation.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Design, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
15 years of related experience in design management, project delivery, or multidisciplinary project environments.
Proven experience leading multidisciplinary design teams on large and complex projects.
Strong understanding of project delivery processes, design management principles, and technical coordination.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder engagement, and team-building skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
Experience in coordinating design reviews, technical workshops, and project meetings.
Proficiency in managing design risks, change management processes, and quality assurance requirements.
Ability to mentor and develop team members while driving high performance and accountability.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring
Master's Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
Professional certification or registration relevant to the discipline.
Experience delivering large-scale infrastructure, industrial, transportation, or development projects.
Strong understanding of digital delivery platforms, BIM environments, and project management systems.
Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, process improvement, and operational excellence.
Experience working in a multicultural and multidisciplinary project environment.
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of client expectations and project delivery objectives.
