Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to support the design review, construction supervision, testing, commissioning, and delivery of major high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, and large-scale building developments in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of mechanical building systems in compliance with project specifications, Saudi regulations, international standards, quality requirements, and project schedules.
Your role
- Review and supervise the installation of mechanical building systems for high-rise and large-scale building projects.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Conduct site inspections and witness testing activities to verify workmanship and quality compliance.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to project schedules and quality standards.
- Coordinate with architects, civil/structural engineers, electrical engineers, and contractors to resolve technical issues.
- Review mechanical calculations, equipment selections, and engineering documents for compliance with project requirements.
- Support testing, balancing, commissioning, and performance verification activities.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements throughout project execution.
- Monitor installation quality and identify potential defects or non-conformances.
- Review and verify mechanical equipment installation, startup, and operational readiness.
- Participate in design review meetings, progress meetings, and technical workshops.
- Support value engineering initiatives and recommend cost-effective engineering solutions.
- Review contractor progress reports and provide technical input on project status.
- Assist in authority inspections, approvals, and project handover activities.
- Verify operation and maintenance manuals, as-built drawings, and commissioning documentation.
- Monitor sustainability objectives and energy efficiency requirements during project implementation.
- Prepare inspection reports, technical reports, and engineering recommendations.
- Support project closeout activities and defect liability period inspections.
About you
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Master's Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering is preferred.
- Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is preferred.
- Professional certifications such as ASHRAE, CIBSE, or equivalent are advantageous.
- LEED AP, Mostadam, or sustainability-related certifications are desirable.
- 10 to 15 years of professional Mechanical Engineering experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience on major high-rise and large-scale building projects.
- Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC countries is highly preferred.
- Experience working with consultants, PMCs, developers, and contractors.
- Demonstrated experience during construction, testing, commissioning, and handover phases.
- Experience in mechanical systems testing, commissioning, and performance verification.
- Strong understanding of sustainability, energy efficiency, and green building principles.
- Ability to review engineering calculations, technical specifications, and contractor submissions.
