Supervises carpenters and painters and oversees operation of the carpentry and paint shop.Job Duties:
- Supervises carpentry and paint shop personnel.
- Assigns work.
- Inspects completed work.
- Acts as a resource for section personnel.
- Provides information concerning policy or procedure changes.
- Promotes safety.
- Conducts training.
- Completes performance evaluations and handles disciplinary actions.
- Provides staffing and scheduling to meet departmental needs.
- Remains aware of the project priorities to allocate resources for timely completion.
- Interviews candidates and makes hiring recommendations.
- Reviews completed work orders, including time and work.
- Completes reports as required.
- Develops procedures for carpentry and paint section.
- Ensures inventory of materials and supplies are maintained to meet workload needs.
- Maintains inventory of tools and equipment.
- Ensures that tools and equipment remain in safe operating condition.
- Provides for repair and maintenance as required.
- Tracks daily budget activities, expense, capital equipment, etc.
- Provides input to management for annual budget planning.
- Inspects interior and exteriors of buildings on a regular basis.
- Maintains records of requisitions, man hours and materials used on each project, daily assignments, daily personnel reports and type of materials used in all areas of hospital.
- Evaluates and recommends new products.
