ITA is seeking a Mid-Level Power BI Data Analyst to join the team in Fort Eustis, Virginia in a hybrid position.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Mid-Level Power BI Data Analyst to support the U.S. Army T2COM mission. The Power BI Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, transforming, modeling, and visualizing data to provide actionable insights that support mission operations, program management, leadership decision-making, and organizational performance.

 

The successful candidate will work closely with government stakeholders, Business Analysts, Power Platform Developers, Solutions Architects, data owners, and other technical personnel to understand information requirements and translate them into reliable datasets, semantic models, reports, dashboards, and analytical products.

 

The position requires strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI, including Power Query, data modeling, DAX, report development, visualization, and data validation. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with Dataverse, SQL, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Azure, and other enterprise data sources.

 

Experience supporting DoD, Army, or federal government environments and working with controlled or sensitive data is highly desirable.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, and analytical solutions.
  • Gather and analyze reporting and data requirements from government stakeholders and mission users.
  • Translate business questions and mission requirements into meaningful data and visualization solutions.
  • Identify appropriate data sources and develop repeatable processes for extracting, transforming, and preparing data.
  • Use Power Query to connect, transform, cleanse, and combine data from multiple sources.
  • Develop efficient and scalable Power BI semantic models.
  • Develop and maintain DAX measures, calculated columns, calculated tables, and analytical expressions as required.
  • Design intuitive dashboards and reports that effectively communicate operational and mission information.
  • Develop data visualizations appropriate to the intended audience and analytical objective.
  • Establish appropriate filtering, drill-down, drill-through, and interactive reporting functionality.
  • Develop dashboards for operational users, program managers, analysts, and senior leadership.
  • Connect Power BI to Dataverse, SQL databases, SharePoint, Excel, APIs, Microsoft 365, and other approved enterprise data sources.
  • Validate data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Identify data-quality issues and work with data owners and technical teams to resolve them.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of data dictionaries, metadata, business definitions, and reporting standards.
  • Work with Business Analysts to define reporting requirements, metrics, key performance indicators, and business rules.
  • Work with Power Platform developers and architects to integrate Power BI capabilities into broader Power Platform solutions.
  • Support development of Power Apps and Power Automate solutions where reporting and data analytics are required.
  • Optimize Power BI reports, models, queries, and datasets for performance.
  • Configure and maintain appropriate data refresh processes.
  • Support Power BI deployment and lifecycle management across development, test, and production environments.
  • Participate in peer reviews and technical design reviews.
  • Troubleshoot report, dataset, refresh, data source, and visualization issues.
  • Document data sources, transformations, calculations, assumptions, and report logic.
  • Develop test cases and perform data validation and report testing.
  • Support user acceptance testing and incorporate stakeholder feedback.
  • Monitor production reports and resolve issues in accordance with established support procedures.
  • Assist with data analysis and ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data accessibility, reporting automation, and analytical capabilities.
  • Apply established security, governance, data handling, and access-control requirements.
  • Stay current with Microsoft Power BI and related data platform capabilities.
  • Perform other data analysis and reporting duties as required to support T2COM mission objectives.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards embedded within Power Apps using Power BI tiles, ensuring seamless integration of analytics and business applications.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, reporting, data visualization, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing production-quality Power BI reports and dashboards.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Microsoft Power BI
    • Power Query
    • DAX
    • Data modeling
    • Data visualization
    • Data analysis
  • Experience developing relational data models and working with structured data.
  • Experience working with SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience connecting Power BI to multiple data sources.
  • Experience developing calculated measures and analytical expressions using DAX.
  • Experience cleansing, transforming, and validating data using Power Query or comparable tools.
  • Experience gathering and documenting reporting and analytical requirements.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into meaningful analytical products.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, data validation, and data governance concepts.
  • Experience working with business and technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification.
  • Microsoft Power Platform certifications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Azure data services.
  • Experience with Azure SQL, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, or other Azure data technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dataverse.
  • Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate.
  • Experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience developing Power BI solutions using REST APIs and custom data connectors.
  • Experience with advanced DAX optimization and performance tuning.
  • Experience implementing row-level security (RLS).
  • Experience with Power BI deployment pipelines and Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with Git or other source-control technologies.
  • Experience developing executive-level dashboards and performance scorecards.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Army, DoD, or federal government programs.
  • Familiarity with RMF, NIST, FISMA, DISA STIGs, Zero Trust, and federal cybersecurity requirements.
  • Experience working with controlled, sensitive, or mission-critical data.
  • Familiarity with federal data governance and information-handling requirements.
  • Active Secret security clearance.

Pay range for this position is $110,000 - $125,000 annually

 

This position has a broad compensation range due to the complexities of government contracting, including contract pricing, labor category requirements, funding parameters, and varying levels of candidate experience and qualifications.
