Description
Description
At SQUER, we help established companies become AI-native engineering organizations. As Lead Advisor – AI-Native Engineering, you're the person clients turn to when their developers are already experimenting with AI coding tools — but without guidelines, guardrails, or any real sense of what it's delivering. You close that gap, working directly on the client's own codebase and delivery pipeline instead of from a slide.
Your tasks
- Introduce AI-assisted engineering into client teams and make it stick — coding assistants, agents, spec-driven development.
- Design guardrails for coding agents: scoped permissions, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, review and CI gates that agent-generated code can't bypass.
- Keep quality high where agents are in the loop — definition of done for agent output, tests and static analysis as the real safety net, review practices that catch plausible-but-wrong code.
- Run agents economically — right-sized context and models per task, no runaway loops, cost tracked per outcome.
- Assess AI readiness at delivery level and map legacy systems onto realistic replacement paths.
- Independently facilitate Big Picture Event Storming and technical workshops with CTOs, architects, and development teams.
- Help evolve SQUER's "AI in the SDLC" offering and spot follow-up engagement potential in running projects.
Your qualifications
- Several years of development experience, including a lead or senior role with real ownership of a system or a team.
- AI-assisted coding on a complex project, professional or private — describable with tool, scope, and outcome.
- Own AI practice beyond ChatGPT: own workflows, agents, MCP servers, custom GPTs.
- Solid understanding of LLMs, agents, and RAG — what each is and when to use it.
- Hands-on experience putting guardrails around coding agents, and a clear sense of where agentic coding typically goes wrong.
- Confident in CI/CD, testing, and iterative delivery.
- Comfortable running a workshop in front of an unfamiliar group.
- Fluent in German and English — both required.
