The Research Project Manager supports the day-to-day research operations under the direction of Dr. Nishita (Nishi) Dsouza, Principal Investigator (PI) to coordinates project timelines, compliance documentation, communications, and administrative systems so that research activities move forward smoothly.
May coordinate with graduate research assistants, undergraduate research assistants, and community partners, but does not supervise other staff unless otherwise specified in writing.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain the master project timeline and track deliverables against deadlines
Coordinate and prepare agendas/minutes for lab meetings and PI check-ins
Track IRB protocol status, renewals, and required certifications (e.g., CITI) for lab members
Serve as first point of contact for scheduling with community partners and collaborators
Support budget tracking and expense documentation in coordination with the PI and grants office
Draft and maintain standard operating procedures for research administrative processes
Support preparation of progress reports, renewal applications, and dissemination materials
Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
2+ years of research experience at a community organization
Demonstrated project coordination or administrative experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with common productivity and project-management tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams)
Working Conditions
Primarily remote, with occasional on-campus or community site responsibilities as needed by the PI. Standard business hours with some flexibility required around meeting schedules and deadlines.
