LATAM Accounting and Tax Supervisor

Position Overview

The LATAM Accounting and Tax Supervisor will oversee accounting and tax activities across Latin America, ensuring accurate and timely reporting in accordance with US GAAP and applicable local accounting standards.

This role will lead the monthly close process, review balance sheet and P&L reconciliations, coordinate with tax outsourcing providers and the internal Accounting team, and ensure accurate reporting to the global Finance team. The position will also supervise two accountants and serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, external auditors, and tax advisors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly close, ensuring accurate and timely submission of the balance sheet, P&L, general ledger, and supporting reconciliations.

  • Review and approve accounting activities across LATAM, including journal entries, fixed assets, leases, equity accounts, provisions, financial statements, and other assigned reconciliations.

  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and applicable local accounting standards, identifying differences between corporate and local requirements and supporting the implementation of new accounting and regulatory rules.

  • Coordinate tax and statutory reporting activities with outsourced providers, internal Finance teams, and local specialists, reviewing calculations, filings, supporting documentation, and the consistency of reported information with business operations.

  • Supervise and develop two accountants and partner with internal stakeholders, external auditors, tax advisors, and service providers across the region.

  • Support audits, compliance activities, process improvements, and Finance systems initiatives, including SAP S/4HANA implementation and global reporting tools.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Advanced SAP knowledge.

  • Knowledge of local direct and indirect taxes, particularly in Brazil, Colombia, and Chile.

  • Active Brazilian CRC registration is desirable.

  • Fluent English is required. Portuguese and Spanish are desirable.

  • Experience coordinating external audits and working directly with auditors, tax advisors, and outsourced providers.

  • Postgraduate qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Tax is desirable.

  • Experience with OneStream, Hyperion, or similar consolidation and reporting systems is desirable.

  • Experience supporting accounting activities across multiple Latin American countries is desirable.
