Your ideas help shape citywide improvements. The work you do ties directly into measurable goals. You'll be part of a system that values collaboration, innovation, and results.
Keep track of the score and game time using the scoreboard. Record fouls, timeouts, scoring, and other game details on the score sheet. Arrive at least 30 minutes before games and help set up equipment so games can start on time. Work with the gym supervisor and other recreation staff to support a respectful game environment. Help with incident or accident reports when needed. Help clean up after games, put equipment away, and take found belongings to lost and found. Submit your timecard for hours worked.
The ability to read and write at a level needed to perform the job. Knowledge of basketball Previous scorekeeping experience, and CPR, First Aid, or AED certification are preferred but not required.
Follow game play closely and keep track of details accurately. Communicate clearly and respectfully with players, coaches, coworkers, and community members. Work well with the gym supervisor, referees, and other recreation staff. Stay focused while keeping track of several things at once. Stay calm and professional when questions or concerns come up.
