POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Research Nurse (CRN) is a licensed professional responsible for coordinating clinical care and research activities to support the safe, compliant, and effective conduct of clinical trials. Working collaboratively with investigators, research staff, providers, and interdisciplinary care teams, the CRN coordinates patient care in accordance with Enloe Health standards, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines, regulatory requirements, and study protocols. The CRN promotes participant safety, protects the rights and welfare of research participants, supports informed consent processes, and ensures accurate data collection and documentation.

 

The CRN supports the development and implementation of oncology and non-oncology clinical research programs, including gene and cellular therapies. The position collaborates with academic partners, community organizations, sponsors, investigators, and regulatory agencies to expand patient access to clinical research and emerging therapies.

 

Working under the direction of the Enloe Community Care Center of Excellence Program Manager, the CRN serves as a clinical and research resource to patients, providers, and nursing staff in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The position supports study implementation, protocol compliance, investigational therapy administration, participant monitoring, community outreach, education, and research pipeline development while promoting excellence in patient outcomes, quality improvement, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based nursing practice.

 

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

• Two years of RN experience.
• Two years of infusion therapy, oncology, hematology, transplant, cellular therapy, or related clinical experience as a Registered Nurse
• Experience coordinating care across multidisciplinary teams.

Desired:

• Experience in clinical research or research coordination.
• Experience in oncology, hematology, gene therapy, cellular therapy, regenerative medicine, or transplant services.
• Experience working with academic medical centers, research networks, community organizations, and external partners.
• Advanced knowledge and utilization of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Knowledge of FDA, IRB, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and CIRM requirements.

      

 

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

Minimum:

• Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.

 

 

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES

High level understanding and proficiency in Electronic Medical Record systems and clinical research processes. Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex clinical research studies while ensuring participant safety and protection of human subjects. Possesses strong clinical assessment skills, sound professional judgment, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

 

Demonstrates excellent organizational, project management, communication, and collaboration skills required to support multidisciplinary clinical research programs. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with investigators, nursing personnel, external research partners, sponsors, community organizations, and regulatory agencies. Behavior should be reflective of Enloe Health core values.
