Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Patrol Reporting in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government education location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide responsive customer service to students, staff, and visitors. You will communicate clearly, document observations, and support a welcoming environment through teamwork and integrity. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $17.55 / Hour

Security Experience (C112)

• Candidates must possess a minimum of 6 months of relevant security experience. This experience should include, but is not limited to, roles in security operations, risk management, or related fields.
• Applicants are encouraged to provide detailed descriptions of their security experience in their resumes and cover letters.

Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204)

• Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in using computers or tablets. This includes familiarity with basic software applications, internet navigation, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly.

Customer Service Experience (B219)

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus personnel and emergency responders when needed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, and policy violations according to site procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and maintain professional communication with Allied Universal leadership and location representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
