Cape Fear Academy has an immediate need for an Upper School Chemistry Teacher, through December 18, 2026, which may be extended for a period of time beyond that date.
Position Description: Upper School Chemistry Teacher
Major Responsibilities:
- Teach 5 sections, including all levels of Chemistry.
- Provide a range of instructional and assessment strategies with technology to meet the needs of all students.
- Collaborate with staff members to create engaging lessons and a positive school culture.
- Provide tutoring to individual and small student groups as required.
- Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Teacher should possess experience and knowledge in all levels of upper school Chemistry. Experience teaching AP Chemistry preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency using technology including online texts, iPads, and computer interface measurements.
- Teacher should have an interest in and ability to contribute to extracurricular activities.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in subject area required; a Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Three or more years of teaching experience at the high school level, preferably in an independent school environment.
