We are looking for an experienced Senior Portfolio Performance Advisor to join our Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO). In this role, you'll help senior leaders make informed, evidence-based decisions about DOC's portfolio of key investments, projects, and change initiatives.
As one of the two seniors, you will co-lead portfolio analysis, reporting, and performance insights that support strategic investment decisions and portfolio optimisation. Working closely with senior leaders, governance groups, delivery teams, and business partners, you will ensure decision-makers have the information they need to manage risks, balance priorities, and maximise value from investment initiatives.
You will also co-own DOC's portfolio management system, support the evolution of portfolio management practices and frameworks, and help strengthen project and programme delivery capability across the organisation.
What you will be doing:
Co- lead enterprise portfolio reporting, analysis, and dashboard development for senior leaders and governance forums.
Turn complex project, programme, financial, and performance data into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
Monitor portfolio performance, identify risks and trends, and recommend practical solutions.
Analyse benefits realisation, investment performance, funding, and expenditure data to support strategic decision-making.
Support and troubleshooting of DOC’s PPM tool.
Support Treasury investment reporting and organisational reporting requirements.
Co-own and continuously improve DOC's portfolio management system, including its configuration, maintenance, and enhancement.
Develop portfolio scenarios to assess priorities, funding options, capacity, sequencing, and trade-offs.
Provide advice on portfolio prioritisation, optimisation, and alignment with organisational outcomes.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of project and programme management frameworks, tools, templates, and guidance.
Coach and support delivery teams to build portfolio, programme, and project management capability.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly analytical and strategic professional who enjoys turning complex information into meaningful insights, influencing decision-making, and driving continuous improvement across a diverse portfolio.
We are looking for someone with:
Demonstrated experience in analytical, portfolio, programme, or project office roles.
Strong understanding of project, programme, and portfolio management practices, including Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery approaches.
Experience working within a PMO, P3O, Portfolio Office, or Enterprise PMO environment.
Advanced skills in data analysis and reporting tools, particularly Excel, Power BI, and portfolio project management (PPM) tools, such as Psoda, Sentient, Planview etc. The ability to analyse complex information and translate it into concise, decision-ready insights for executive audiences.
Experience producing high-quality governance, performance, and assurance reporting.
Knowledge of Treasury investment processes, Better Business Cases, Gateway Reviews, and public sector investment management practices would be advantageous.
Relevant industry qualifications such as PRINCE2, MSP, or equivalent.
Builds trusted relationships and works effectively across diverse stakeholder groups.
Provides clear, well-reasoned advice on complex issues.
Influences and supports others to improve performance and capability.
Ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.

Salary: $93,656 - $118,510 pro-rata, depending on skills and experience.
Eligibility: You must hold a valid NZ work visa that covers the duration of employment.
